I want people to watch the show, understand what is going on, and have a good visual release to watch the show.jjgp1112 wrote:Let's face it - considering all of the things Funi did in the past, I highly doubt that the fanbase will ever be united. I've never bothered to watch the show "in it's proper" form and have mostly watched the "fake" DBZ (although I have read the manga a lot), yet I've turned out fine.
Dragon Box to include BOTH dub tracks?
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Would you not buy it if the Faulconer track was the only dub track? The Time Traveller wrote:I don't, I just don't think it has any place on a Dragon Ball Z release since it's not Dragon Ball Z music. And since the latest DVD release is missing the Faulconer score, I really reaaaaaally doubt it'll be used any more.

Oh trust me, I don't sit here with an AR-15 muttering to myself about wrongs done when I was 12 years old. I'm just saying, you asked how they shunned sub fans. I gave an example that spanned roughly a third of the show's 15 year life in North America ;pInnagadadavida wrote:Yeah, but that's, like, over and stuff. All fans are on an even playing field now. What's that phrase? "By gones be by gones" or something. I think they said it in the dub even.
Add in the advertising SNAFUs like I previously mentioned, and it's obvious that FUNimation hasn't been too concerned about the Japanese-version fanbase. Like I said though, I think the fall of several competitors has forced them to re-evaluate their prior stance.
And this, honestly, is what it all comes down to. If FUNimation increased the disc count, this is all moot. If they didn't...well, honestly, they'll be par for the course.Innagadadavida wrote: You're right, there's that. But we all know FUNimation can fix that problem reaaaaally easily. Let's just hope that they do.

I really hope this is just some misinformation.
For the record, I don't care which dub track is on the set because I wont be watching it, I just don't want to have to settle for an inferior product because FUNimation decided at the last minute to pander to an audience that isn't going to buy this release.

Well, as stated, DB prints money no matter what. Might as well put out a slightly better release that actually won't take too much effort to do.Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:Again, it comes back to sales. Would the loss in fans buying the sets because of the removal be compensated for by new fans who haven't already bought the cheaper Season Sets? I don't think these releases are gonna be the best thing on the market for a new fan.B wrote:It's a step in the right direction. It's one less thing new fans would have to worry about if they were to ever become dedicated enough to engage in discussions like we do. One less thing to divide the fanbase, because it would be the same.

Maybe not, but at least it would help a little if you didn't come in here and immediately start rubbing everyone's noses in your shit. No wonder my friends complain about you.jjgp1112 wrote:Let's face it - considering all of the things Funi did in the past, I highly doubt that the fanbase will ever be united. The Faulconer track's inclusion would have to actually be a loss for me to be really rubbing the loss in people's faces. We don't know if video quality will be affected, and since most people who want it gone don't even watch the dub anyway, it shouldn't affect them at all.
And do you really think I'd care if your friends don't like me?

Well, since the tracks both already existed, there was really no reason not to include them, if they could. Hopefully it doesn't affect the video quality.
Personally, I couldn't care less about the English dub of DBZ. It's awful. But I don't have to listen to it.
I don't see the big deal.
Damn, if only they could have included the Ocean dub! (Like that was ever going to happen!)

My definition of "fine" doesn't include bitching, whining and throwing a childish fit whenever someone disagrees with you, but whatever.jjgp1112 wrote:I've never bothered to watch the show "in it's proper" form and have mostly watched the "fake" DBZ (although I have read the manga a lot), yet I've turned out fine.

It has nothing to do with video quality loss for me. I put in my final word about that in the other thread. But you come in here all like, "yeah! In your face, hardcore subbies! Fuck you and your stupid idea of victory because you don't like what I like and don't want it on there!" You're being a jackass.jjgp1112 wrote:The Faulconer track's inclusion would have to actually be a loss for me to be really rubbing the loss in people's faces. Obviously not. Otherwise you'd be able to make the distinction between "we don't like the US soundtrack" and "we don't like jjgp." You take everything way too fucking personally and you turned this into some sort of "I won the contest!!!!" bullshit as soon as you started posting in this thread. And do you really think I'd care if your friends don't like me?
This has nothing to do with what I want on the DVDs. This has to do with how you're making it harder for people to get along. Just stop it. Really. Learn to not be a jackass every. Single. Goddamn. Time. You. Open. Your. Mouth about the damn music.
There's nothing wrong with being happy, but stop being a dick about it.
I think that's a pretty good point at which to wrap things up. The thread has served its purpose.
For god's sake, people, stop taking things personally, try to listen to others' reasoning, and just stop being dicks to each other.
