FMA: Brotherhood coming to america? I smell Dragon Ball Kai.
http://www.funimation.com/f_index.cfm?page=news&id=594 Well since this is happening does anyone other than me predict Dragon Ball Kai is coming to America soon other than me?

Fullmetal Alchemist, another Funimation dub I dislike. (I can't stand Vic Mignogna's Edward Elric!)
But at least it doesn't change large portions of the story.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Well first off I just found out they got Brotherhood and second since they got this new Japanese series I was only making a prediction that they might get Dragon Ball Kai.Mystery Person X wrote:What does FMA have to do with DBK? Licensing one in no way implies that they will license the other.
Not to mention that they announced the FMA license about 6 months ago. The dub cast is news, but that's about it.

Ah I see so I guess from what you said they're also trying to get the new Jump special?SSj_Rambo wrote:They've said they want Kai, and all other Dragonball products. Even if they licensed nothing else that has come out in the last 10 years, they would (try to) get Kai.

Yep. No telling when they'll get it, but I'm sure it'll come sometime in the next 1-3 years, probably before Kai.ShadowDude112 wrote:Ah I see so I guess from what you said they're also trying to get the new Jump special?SSj_Rambo wrote:They've said they want Kai, and all other Dragonball products. What I mean is FMA: Brotherhood is a remake of FMA and so is Dragon Ball Kai, so I'm only making a prediction follow me now "prediction" that they will get Dragon ball KaiMystery Person X wrote:FUNimation licenses Japanese series all the time. Zomfg, FUNi licensed Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino. Mark my words, it's a sure sign they'll be licensing Dragon Ball Kai!
Alright. I hope they don't dub them poorly though I hope they re dub Kai also keep a lot of the original script.SSj_Rambo wrote:Yep. Yeah I'm really hoping Kai will be released in about a year since that's what they did with Brotherhood.Hellspawn28 wrote:Well this is good news for me since I'm a big FMA fan. Well I will not be suprise if they do release DBKai since they will most likely do release it.

But FMA: Brotherhood is more canonical with the manga, so the original FMA anime is more like a remake of the manga. Brotherhood is more of an adaptation of the manga than a remake of the original FMA anime.ShadowDude112 wrote:What I mean is FMA: Brotherhood is a remake of FMA....
Just saying.
On topic, I think I'll stick with my original hunch since Kai originally came out back in April and say the dub of Kai won't be released until 2010, along with the dub of the Jump Festa special.
They have a woman voicing Alphonse now?! Oh well, I guess Aaron Dismuke had to hit puberty sometime....

Isn't Brotherhood more like a "Hellsing Ultimate" version of FMA?ShadowDude112 wrote:http://www.funimation.com/f_index.cfm?page=news&id=594 Well since this is happening does anyone other than me predict Dragon Ball Kai is coming to America soon other than me?
In any case, I doubt Kai will be coming here anytime soon. FUNimation will be milking the DragonBoxes for at least a year or two and I doubt they'd want to confuse things by releasing another version of the series.

Ah yes you are correct my bad it's just they released Brotherhood after the original FMA anime so I guess I made a mistake my bad and I think your hunch may be correct.Shiyonasan wrote:But FMA: Brotherhood is more canonical with the manga, so the original FMA anime is more like a remake of the manga.
