I'm struggling to understand the concept of these YouTube "update videos" where it's just text on-screen.
Actually, I suppose I understand it quite well. One of the largest audiences on the internet is YouTube's viewership as a whole, so I suppose there's a built-in audience if they manage to search for you and/or your topic. Quick way to get something you deem as "attention".
Doesn't change the fact that it seems waaaaaaaay more work than it's worth. Why not just create an actual web page or blog? I mean, all those Evolution sites pre-release had the right idea. Quick updates constantly about every minor little thing about a particular subject. Sure, they render themselves obsolete and irrelevant immediately after release, but it seems like the perfect medium.
Also, why do they always have the worst grammar in the world? If every word isn't first-letter-capitalized, then every word is spelled wrong, it seems.

It's mostly people just trying to get more views on their videos. I think it's kind of pointless.VegettoEX wrote:I'm struggling to understand the concept of these YouTube "update videos" where it's just text on-screen.

I see two reasons why they're successful. Sure, while people like you or I can go to a blog to get every little update, but some kids just don't know about that. Some people I know only use the internet for YouTube. More often than not, their idea of a blog is just one person's online diary. Another reason may be the subscription system on YouTube is an easy way to have content delivered to you every day. A simple misunderstanding of the word blog and the unsettling title "RSS" may be enough to drive somebody away from that system. YouTube dumbs it down and makes it easy for someone to have both fun and entertaining videos pop up on their homepage at any given moment and these news videos sprinkled in may be just too easy to pass up.VegettoEX wrote:I'm struggling to understand the concept of these YouTube "update videos" where it's just text on-screen.
The videos with just text is confusing to me too though. I've always assumed that videos were a better medium for commentaries rather than just writing it out, but whatever works, works, I guess.

I agree, which may seem ironic considering my partner Lewis/Vershiris uses text in his videos (I don't), but yeah I agree. I don't get why people like flplange and narutocaprirequest2 upload EVERY Raging Blast gameplay onto YouTube even if it doesn't show anything at all too. But whatever.VegettoEX wrote:I'm struggling to understand the concept of these YouTube "update videos" where it's just text on-screen.

The text thing I can explain. I use to do video's like this explaining thoughts on whatever. Honestly looking back it was boring and a waste of space on youtube but whatever.
The reason I used text was because I didn't have a Microphone, or web cam for that matter. Why not a forum or blog, well I eventually moved to forums for more than one reason(people on youtube are annoying as shit), however youtube is a massively populated site its easy to put out a small video and get a few hundred hits. Add something well know like News on a video game or why you think someone famous is stupid and BAM! you have an audience. "If you build it they will come."
On the outside looking in, the method is really stupid(I don't even bother watching them) and nine times out of ten you have more comments on spelling mistakes rather than the topic itself.

Just a heads up, at the moment the Limited Edition has the same price as the standard edition at Amazon UK.
Don't think I've seen it cheaper anywhere either, as GBP 35 is about 40 Euro's right now.

Omg Uncharted 2!Amigo Ten wrote:Tempting, but I'm still not sure about getting the game. Not soon anyway. I'll Uncharted 2 and Tekken to keep me occupied, so I'll probbaly pick this up when the price comes down.
I might just wait till after chirstmas till I get this game. I need to get Uncharted 2, Batman(next on the list), and Infamous before I get Raging Blast. This might take longer than I expected.

Pointless for you, meaningful for me !Hellspawn28 wrote:No different than having Namek Saga Vegeta in B3 to have him to become a SSj2. Well, I'm already getting hooked on the Uncharted 2 online beta, since it was released on PSN a couple days ago. Once the actual game comes out it'll eat up a lot of time. And Tekken will be even more time consuming. Plus there's 1 or 2 other games that I want a bit more than this.
Raging Blast is pretty much at the bottom of my games-to-buy list at the moment.

Getting a Dragonball game for Christmas has been a personal tradition since the First Budokai so I don't think I can resist getting this game around that time. However, Uncharted 2 takes massive presence over Raging Blast at the moment. Uncharted was such a great game and I can't wait to play 2.Amigo Ten wrote:Well, I'm already getting hooked on the Uncharted 2 online beta, since it was released on PSN a couple days ago.
