Secrets In DBZ Budokai 2!?

Post by Patrickon » Fri Jan 28, 2005 6:35 pm

I know in the japanese version " Dragonball Z Budokai 2V" there are some secret unlockables that the american version doesn't have. I know some of them, but i'm just wondering if any of you people on this message board can tell me what's different in the japenese version.

- there's a stage 10 that has a Neko Majin theme to it
- Kuriza is a playable character
- Cooler is a playable character
- battle damaged Goku suit
- Piccolo with cape and turbine suit

Here are some things i'm wondering......

Do you play as lord Onio or do u just fight him?
can you play as Neko Majin or do u just fight him?
Is Meta Cooler a playable character?

If anyone has some screenshots of this please give me a link or post it on the forum. Thanks for your time?

All I can say is it must be uncomfortable for Piccolo to have a turbine on his head. :P

And as far as I know there are no in-game models whatsoever for Z and Onio aside from their "game pieces."

I don't actually own the game, but from what I understand, the additions to DBZ2 were:

* Day/Night versions of some stages (not 100% sure)
* Kuriza (as an alternate costume for Freeza)
* Battle damaged Goku (same as Budokai 3)
* Piccolo wearing cape and turban (same as above)
* Neko Majin Z themed board
* "Majin" alternates for Cell and Freeza

From what I've been told, Neko Majin and Onio serve as teleportation and life restorers (like Dende and Mr. Popo), but are not actual characters.

Coola was not actually a character in the original japanese release of DBZ2, but appeared as an alternate costume for Freeza in a special promotional game disc that was given out with V-Jump! magazine. (Meta Coola was activated by using "Freeza's Spaceship" capsule)

Thanks man for answering my questions. It's a shame that the Neko Majin themed stage didn't enable the player to be able to fight against Neko Majin and Onio. Oh well, what can you do? The Meta Coola capsule thingy that you mentioned, Deus, sounds cool. How by using Freeza's Spaceship capsule when the Coola skin is enabled, sounds awesome.

There's also a bit more dialogue. When you fight a standard enemy like a Saibaiman, most characters only display a text bubble in the english versions. the japanese version has all text balloons covered with voices. A minor detail, but nice to listen to.
