Your Dragonball Wishes

Post by Dayspring » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:48 pm

This doesn't seem to get asked as much as other stuff, but if you could use the Dragonballs, what you wish for? Keep in mind you have to follow the rules of whatever set you'd use. Since you're a regular human, that set would more than likely be either Kami or Dende's.

My wishes would be pretty vain:

1) To be the richest person in the world.

If Dende's set:

2) To have Superman's powers.

3) For my idea of the perfect woman to fall in love with me.

Easy only one wish: flight. Though I'd be afraid he'd screw me over and give me a jet or something, so I'd try and be really specific. No wings, none of that - just will it and go. As fast or as slow as I wanted.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
As lame as it is, I'd probably wish for a shitload of cash.

I'd like to wish for the Answer-Talker ability from Konjiki no Gash Bell. It's kind of like being a super newtype. You ask yourself a question, and you instantly know the answer. It even works for things that haven't happened yet to a certain extent, giving the person some sort of precognition. As such, I suppose it's the ability to know anything and everything.

"How do I counter this attack?"
"What is the password to this lock?"
"How do I fix this machine?"
"Whatever happened to the city of Atlantis?"

1.To fly using my Ki

2.To have the ability to heal people

3.To know the Kamehameha or Genki Dama I wouldn't know what to choose

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

1) A better DBZ dub.

2) Teleportation. This will cut down on a lot of travel costs. Plus I can taunt people and then teleport away. This must be the type of teleportation where I can sense where to teleport, so I don't teleport into a wall or a person.

3) The ability to speak, understand, and write any language known to man. Complete mastery of any language. This ensures that I will always be able to find employment.

If it's just the one wish DBs, obviously that first thing takes precedence.

To live on an "eternal island"(no one ages or dies) with every single female celebrity I pine for, every attractive woman I know personally, and every random pretty woman I've ever seen on the street. And they're all madly in love with me.

I wonder if that counts as more than one... Like, I want to live with them, AND I want them to like me. I guess it would.

If that's two convoluted for the dumb Dragon, then... for a watch that could pause, fast forward, and rewind time. The ability to reverse all the dumb things I've ever done? To write the scripts of the msot successful films of all time, and become rich? Yes please!

To have the powers of The One Above All. That's all I need and I will save the rest for later.

You should probably limit yourself to what a dragon can grant. It can't grant anything that is beyond the power of its creator.

1000 more wishes? But in reality, 1) an infinite budget 2) every super power (or at least the ability to stop time) 3) well, can't really think of anything else right now; maybe just a complete DB music collection (games (cut-scenes especially), commercials, everything else).

If he could, a lot of the problems in the series would have been solved easily.

I think mine was as realistic as wishing for something like immortality. :D

As an illustration of how pathetic I am, I will say that I think about this often. And seriously, even (realism? Bah!).

For starters, it'd be extremely context-dependent; as I mentioned in another thread (I don't remember which), I recently had a dream that wound up involving a Shenron-summoning (The details on the context are annoyingly vague, and it'd take a while for me to describe the little I've got, but yeah... it got urgent toward the end, and most of the DBs fell into the ocean Movie3-style (but not a chasm of doom, just... like... off the Baja Pennensula?), and I threw the one I held onto down and such, and couldn't decide what to wish for before I woke up. ).

Ahem.

Assuming there's no backstory or group effort that would involve cooperation, I suppose I have two things in mind.
I'm not at liberty to discuss the first wish...
(I'll point to GT as a clue to the direly interested. ^^ )

Assuming there was a second... I'd probably go for some means of taking the stuff I have a crap-ton of notes on and turning it into not-just-notes. I'm mostly thinking videogames, maybe movies/toons if the script exists...
I'm not entirely sure though if I'd just say "Take these notes files and make them into something awesome", or if I'd ask for some sort of device or special ability that makes certain things easier (Like a one-way "upload graphics and sound to a computer" device... ur... that can't be used by other parties for mind-reading purposes. -_- ). I don't want to go with too much ease and convenience, but definitely something to overcome the giant bariers that are all over the place.

(And yeah, "random stuff I have notes on" includes more than one DB-related things. So like, if I wound up with a magically complete-and-awesome version of one of the DB game I've detailed, I'd probably slowly and suspensefully release bits and pieces of it to the internet before the whole thing (depending on legality of course), simply to drag out another 100+page thread here. )

[edit] Ur, and a third wish might be the ability to say all of this in a more organized and less volumous fashion. [/edit]

She is out there, you're still young. You'll find her without the Dragonballs!

Just wish for money. You'll buy Funimation and choose the voice actors youself, and the translators too, and when you are at it, the script writers.

I would with Kami's Dragonballs ask for:

1) Complete knowledgde of everything there is to know about medicine and the subjects related to it. Simply, even things that aren't known yet.

With Dende's Dragonballs:

1) The same
2) A shitload of cash
3) Death to evil people á la Death Note.
