I don't think it works the same way in fighting games. Ever play Soul Calibur 4? After they released the game with Vader and Yoda on the PS3 and 360, respectively, they released the other character as DLC content(though it was way over priced). I chose not to buy Yoda for my PS3 and yet I can still fight opponents with the Yoda content. The concept can still be applied to Raging Blast.Onikage725 wrote:Without getting into my general (very negative) view of microtransactions, I'll say that a problem there would be with online play. Anyone who didn't buy certain packs wouldn't be able to fight someone using one of those characters. And, the majority of people don''t shell out the extra dough (as evidenced by the plague of no-mic folks flooding L4D versus matches). This happens to me all the time in Rock Band 2. I've invested a decent amount in DLC tracks, and imported my RB1 songs as well. When I play locally or with some close friends who have invested similarly, it takes a long time to get board. When I go online, it seems most people are just running with the RB2 disc, and my track selection is severly limited. Or, L4D- I can't count how many times I've taken a group from No Mercy to Crash Course and watched half the people get kicked from the lobby.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:Oh, and as for additional characters, They should make character packs. Charge a little extra for Dragonball and GT characters. I would enjoy it as long as its not over priced and I could chose which characters I want instead of having an excess amount characters with only a few of them I'd play as.

Ugh. I guess I won't be gettin' this game, at least not any time soon. BT3 is still what the doctor orders.Amigo Ten wrote:Well, the game is growing on me, but I still can't shake the feeling that it's more limited than BT3. I would gladly trade out this new combo system to have all the old combos back.
Some of the new things I adore are the " wall smash, super rising, special attack defelction, and the high speed clash that was only in BT3 story mode", At the same time I feel like these things arent enough to abandon it's predesessor. Too much was taken away, or as I say " held back " to praise this.
RB3 perhaps ?

I think the demo shows (other than the camera) that this will be a great game. I can't wait I'll be playing this a lot.SSJSteve wrote:I'm playing the demo everyday, I'm really enjoying it! Still got mine on Pre-Order.

Yeah that's the only problem... the camera. It gets really annyoing sometimes, but everything else is fine!ShadowDude112 wrote:I think the demo shows (other than the camera) that this will be a great game. Another problem is that they don't tell you the controls. I know most of them. But I don't know how to do those moves where in BT3 (if you were playing with a Gamecube controller you would press Y and he would teleport and hit his enemy and if you press X you smash them into the ground. How do I do that?SSJSteve wrote:Yeah that's the only problem... the camera. I think you're talking about the smash attacks, in which case everything is done with square this time. In BT3 (only played it on the PS2), after a smash, you could press X to dash after them and then hold square for another smash, or you could press circle to teleport and smash them. Then after you had hit your limit of smashed you could press circle to ride them into the ground (all this is from memory, so it might be wrong).
But in RB, after a smash you can press X to dash and then do another smash (like BT3), or can simply press square to teleport smash, and at the end of your smashes press square again to take them to the ground.

When your standing next to the enemy you push "B" (if your using the Xbox controls) that should work, most of the time I'm just tapping "B" and it randomly does it.ShadowDude112 wrote:Another problem is that they don't tell you the controls. Are you only playing as Goku? Because that sounds like Goku's unique attack and Goku's throw.SSJSteve wrote:When your standing next to the enemy you push "B" (if your using the Xbox controls) that should work, most of the time I'm just tapping "B" and it randomly does it.I haven't worked out how to smash someone in to the ground, but I know by going up to someone and pushing "RB" it swings them around and throws them in to a mountain (or just across the map).

Well B, or circle, is the unique skill button, so Piccolo and Raditz have different actions for that button. Piccolo has a range grab to pull you in close, which I'm predicting will be abused to all hell and will get Piccolo designated as broken, just like he was in the SB games for his ranged pulling attacks. Even in close quarters it seems overpowered, since it's a ridiculously fast technique up close, and stuns the opponent for a short time.
Raditz has an auto counter move for his unique skill.

Well I assume it's the same, so it'll be A instead of X and X instead of square. To teleport after a smash just press the attack button without dashing, and the final part where you ride them to the ground is done with the attack button too.ShadowDude112 wrote:I'm playing 360 controls.Amigo Ten wrote:I think you're talking about the smash attacks, in which case everything is done with square this time. I wish the demo was like the one seen at the Tokyo game show since more then 3 characters would be nice (like five) IMO. The game might have the same gameplay as BT3 but it's not like the other great games had the same gameplay as the other games before it (Like Tekken and Pokemon for example).
As long it has some replay vaule then I will be happy with the game.
