Dead Zone Re-Dub Discussion.
I really want to see how they're going to go about re-dubbing it. In the past when FUNimation re-dubbed DragonBall - Pilaf Saga they used the same exact dialogue as the previous dub, do you think the'll do it here?
Also I doubt Gohan's musical number will be included in this dub, there probley gonna put some wired ass music in there.
Does anyone have any details or anything, I really wanna see some box art or somthing.

Uhm...isn't that a part of "The World's Strongest Guy"?Mizugi wrote:"Piccolo-san Dai Suki" is my favorite part of that movie. When I was giving a report on Dragon Ball in my high school Japanese class I showed that clip.
I think "Tenkaichi Gohan" is the insert from "Return my Gohan"/"Dead Zone"...

They cut Piccolo-san Daisuki from the Norwegian dub. Or rather, they played an instrumental version of it. Sure, an instrumental is cool and all, but it looked extremely stupid to have a dream sequense of random crap that made no sense like that go on for so long, without you really understanding what he was thinking about anyway.
They also had an instrumental version of Cha-La Head-Cha-La, which was the best part of the movie. Of course, they could have replaced it with Rock the Dragon, and the intro would've still been the best part of the movie.

It also makes you question Gohan's sexuality...either that or he wants to play the piccolo in the orchestra. *shrug*Mizugi wrote:"Piccolo-san Dai Suki" is my favorite part of that movie. When I was giving a report on Dragon Ball in my high school Japanese class I showed that clip.

Oh for heaven's sake, it's just a 5 year-old boy's admiration for his sensei. It's the sweetest thing ever.^^Mattias wrote:It also makes you question Gohan's sexuality...either that or he wants to play the piccolo in the orchestra. *shrug*Mizugi wrote:"Piccolo-san Dai Suki" is my favorite part of that movie. If they cut out the "Drunken Gohan" song wouldnt they be taking out a good 5 minutes of the movie? My bets is theyll keep in the scene but add some of that crazy circus music that they used in DBZ. It would make sence since Gohan isnt actually singing it, but boy would it piss me off. Hah, isnt that ironic

No he isn't. He's a 5 year-old kid. In short, has a lot of imagination. I mean what? Do you think the reasons for his very visual dream is he's scooting off to the outhouse and smoking pot when Chi-Chi's not watching? Honestly. -_-Fuujin wrote:Whatever. It just makes the matters worse. The kid's nuts!

I'd rather she sing it, I hate when in an English dub there is a Japanese song all of a sudden. I feel it kills the whole illusion that they speak English when they break into a Japanese song. Thats just me though, I know a lot of people would probley love the original song as is.
On that note, if she does sing it, I'd be very surprised.

I actually would be pretty interested in hearing Nadolny singing. She's not a bad singer, and she's done a couple songs for FUNi so far, like the dubbed version of Sayonara Byebye for YYH. It'd be pretty cool to see them handle the Gohan songs that way.
And even if it didn't come out too well, I'm sure it would be far better than any generic Faulconer BGM that might end up in its place.
