"Only three at a time"?

I noticed that some games ((American-made ones to be exact)) have this rule:

"You can only carry three Senzu beans at a time."

Was this based on a dub thing? or based on a filler event?

I'm pretty sure that this is a game specific rule for the sake of balance. There's no such rule in the dub.

I thought about that... but when in it appeared in more than one game ((LOG, LOG II, Sagas)), that what caught my attension.

I don't see how it could be a dub thing, since characters often carry more than 3 senzu in the show (well, I suppose they've done weirder things than that).

Its never stated in the dub that you can only have 3 beans at a time. On his way to Namek, Goku eats at least one, and still has one for each Gohan, Kuririn, and Vegeta.

During the Jinzonengen arc in the Manga (And anime) Kuririn, Piccolo, and Tenshinhan split 6 beans between the three of them, so two for each.

And if that "3 a time" rule did apply, then why do characters sometimes have Sensu Bean sack?

EDIT: By the way, when was the last time that the Sensu bean was used? I think it was when Videl was cured after her beat-down from Spopovich. Any other time someone got hurt, Kibito or Dende would heal them.

Checking back that event, Goku said Karin had only three Senzu beans left.

I guess that where they got the rule for the games.

But... wait a minute... they had three... the first one was used on Videl, and Vegeta used the last one... where did the second one go?!

Goku gives it to Gohan to recharge him just before Gohan leaves with the Kai to stop Babidi.

That's right, Goku does give Gohan one. I didn't remember, because the last time I saw the Buu episodes was so long ago.

I remember there being enough Senzus at the Cell Games to heal everyone the Cell Jr.s beat up, plus one Cell had.

Who was at the Cell Games, um, gotta think about it...

- Kururin
- Yamcha
- Tenshinhan
- Goku
- Vegeta
- Trunks
- Piccolo
- Gohan

Although I don't think Piccolo, Vegeta, or Trunks needed them, because they held their ground. And Gohan wasn't even on the cliff where the Z-warriors were getting beat up, he was down with Cell, watching the horror. So that makes 4, I think...
