..... wait, wait.
I find being upfront about it is better than this:jjgp1112 wrote:Except, I didn't make it seem like I was mad he was being bashed at all. It's just that every time someone says that they think someone in the dub has a good voice, about 10 come in and act like it's wrong or some shit. Oh wait, I have to state the opinion as a fact in order for it to actually matter. Silly me.
And, since it seems you need to use qualifiers in order to keep snark from the opposite side to a minimum, I think Vale is fine in GT and the games. Back in Z, it was one of his first roles and it showed. Although, those last few episodes where main-timeline Trunks shows up as an adult, he's okay. So he wasn't awful completely throughout Z.
Was that enough dubwuving to make evwybody happy?
One guy presents his argument/qualm with the dub, and the other guy just shrugs it off with an "uh huh." He might as well have just said, "No, you're wrong."Ultimate_DB_Fan wrote:Uh huh. Fact is, Funi chose who they wanted the characters to be voiced by, and there's nothing the nay-sayers can do about it.
If Funi used accurate scripts, not a lot of people would be complaining.
Even where voices do fit in the dub, the performances tend to lack. There's probably some bad direction.

I'm with ya'. Ultimate_DB_Fan, that kind of post is absolutely unacceptable here.B wrote:I find being upfront about it is better than this:

That's kinda given with the Japanese version. No offense, but a lot of Japanese voice actors can't do non-East Asian accents for beans. Don't know if you watched EVA but there's a scene when Asuka shows up and while haven't watched the series really in Japanese, when she speaks German, it sounds more like she's just reading lines whereas in the dub it sounds like she's actually speaking German.Timo wrote:At least it's English. Be happy that you don't understand German. If so, you would have notice that the "German" in Evangelion and Fullmetal Alchemist is horrible (in both, Japanese AND the English dub).
To be fair, I didn't watch the English EVA dub. In the case of FMA, both versions (English and Japanese) are crap (in this scene of course, I actually like FUNi's dub of FMA).Super Sonic wrote:That's kinda given with the Japanese version. This is the only thing the English dub for Evangelion does well. It's an abomination otherwise.Super Sonic wrote:Japanese voice actors can't do non-East Asian accents for beans. You know the Eva dub is actually acclaimed right? I enjoyed it very much.penguintruth wrote:This is the only thing the English dub for Evangelion does well. First, stop trying to pigeon-hole me. I like tons of dubs.verto wrote:I think we should all stop listening to penguintruth, he clearly has something against dubs if he thinks Evangelion had a bad dub. the only dub I can remember him saying he liked was Shin-chan (or was it Crayon Shin-chan, I don't remember since I had never heard of the show before a few of you mentioned it).
And yes, Shinji really needs to stop being a whiny bitch and man up at some point in his life.
