Amount of people who own a Dragonbox.
Amount of people who own a Dragonbox.
While reading through these forums, I was just surprised by the amount of people who own one or more Dragonboxes.
These items cost in the region of €800, so I'm extremely surprised that so many people are in possession of one.
My question is were you saving up, in anticipation, before their release?

I own all three, and no I didn't save. I just used my credit card ;pEntropy wrote:While reading through these forums, I was just surprised by the amount of people who own one or more Dragonboxes.

With each being about $800 post shipping (I think), and with 6 months between each one to pay that off...nah, didn't need to save.

I've also got all three. I was never even intending to get them either.
I got the first one off an old member at the OA for $300 US. I think he was in some financial trouble and was desperate to sell it or something...I dunno. It was only like 2 months old when he sold it, so I was pretty happy about that.
After that I was hooked. Pre-ordered Z Vol. 2 and the DB box off amazon (80,000 yen each if you pre-order them, so that's about $800 US. They were also selling Z Vol. 2 really cheap after Christmas 2003, I think for 70,000 yen or so.). I've also got the GT box on pre-order right now, and I plan on getting the movie box whenever they release it.
And no, I didn't save up for the boxes in particular. I try to make it a habit to just save money in general. That way, if something like a Dragon Box comes along, I already have a nice little stash of money set aside for just such an occasion.

The only Dragon Box I've managed to find is the DB one. I'm also wanting to get the two DBZ ones, but I can't find them anywhere. I don't need to save, I've got enough that I could buy a dozen at once. I just can't find any... Will they ever be available at amazon.co.jp again? If not, is there any place at all where they can be found?
I guess that'll be the last one and have all the movies, huh? I'll be sure to look out for it to preorder to make sure I don't lose the one chance in history to get it like the other ones. lol Any idea how long it'll be before that comes out? I wonder if they'll be full-screen as a bonus or remain cropped.I plan on getting the movie box whenever they release it.
My guess would be around spring 2006 (I doubt they'll do a winter release). And I'd assume they'd be full screen, but you never know... I just hope they include the little intro/outro things done by Goku on the VHS releases. That would be pretty cool.Metrite wrote:Any idea how long it'll be before that comes out? I have all three of them and I had been saving for them, although I never thought I would be buying Japanese Dragon Ball DVDs. Perhaps I wouldn't even have bought one if a friend hadn't told me about the first Dragon Box. Since then, I've been trying to save enough money for each one that has been and will be released. I hope they don't release anymore Dragon Ball DVDs boxes after the movies one (probably won't) because I intend to stop buying after that one due to the fact that I also have a life
and I'd rather not spend more of my life savings
(I just had to have them, one way or another)
