It's loading pretty quickly now.

And I must say, badass Dodoria is hilarious.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

So, I've seen Bardock 5 times now. Maybe I should stop?

Oh, and Chris Sabat...or at least the guy who sounds like him, is credited as DJSexidillionaire...a quick Google search pulls up nothing on the guy, either.

Hmmm...very interesting, and because Sabat has his own in-house studio his lines sounded the best, quality-wise.

...oh, who am I kidding...it was incredible!!

Jesus, cut back on the fucking memes. They aren't funny. There were a few jokes that were actually funny, but they were dragged down by the constant stream of internet memes that I've heard a million times already, and weren't funny the first time.

Well, they got a load of laughs at the con... WE found them funny... our FRIENDS find them funny...

So... With all due respect, no. We won't "cut back." We respect you if you don't enjoy the jokes, but we plan to handle the show however we please, no offense.

Furthermore, all the "memes" were mostly in the bar scene, which was making fun of the whole memetic sensation in first place... A.K.A. a certain website that a good handful of people here seem to dislike.

Why was Sabat credited in the credits, did he have a part in the movie?

I'm 99.99% sure he voices the guys putting Gokû in his pod.

Weren't those lines directly lifted from the dub? At least the script was; I don't know if they used actual audio.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
...I would not put it past the dub to have those lines, but since DJSexillionaire is listed in the credits as the Space Pod Guys...and the name brings up nothing on Google...I suspect it's Sabat under an assumed name...

I KNOW I heard eeey-arth in the dub scene, so at least the scripting of that scene is adapted from the dub. Perhaps I should have been more specific.

Haha, that'd be neat if Sabat lent a hand. We all know he's a fan.

I'm pretty sure there was only one meme in the bar scene, but maybe my memory is even worse then I thought. I'd really hate to see DBZ Abridged just become a bunch of characters spouting memes at each other though. I don't have a problem with the occasional one, but they popped up often enough for me to notice. If you're fine with pandering to the lowest common denominator though there's nothing I can do.

While I agree with you 110% it is kind of their production. It's not really cool to demand they kowtow to your liking. Just try to ignore them, that's what I do.

If worse comes to worse just stop watching, that's what I did with Yugioh the abridged series. (Although the recent episodes my friends made me watch have been much better.)

Wow, way to come off like a dick, no offense. Not to sound like Eddie Van Halen, but I'm sure to a degree Kaiser and co. are doing the DBZA series for themselves. And honestly, I don't think the show has approached the level of just throwing out memes over and over in lieu of actual scripting. There's a few, but in 20 minutes I didn't hear enough to feel like I was reading /b/ or Encyclopedia Dramatica.

And I would know when a show's gone downhill, I've seen Heroes after all ;p

Completely agree. It's been blown way out of proportion because somebody didn't like it.

Highlights for me include Bardock "meeting" Mr. Popo, Freeza clearing his throat to reveal his true voice, the misinterpreted visions, Bardock's take on the arcs post-Freeza alongside GT's Para Para Bros, and Nappa and Vegeta at the end.

I forgot Nappa was in this, then remembered and wondered if he'd show up, then was delightfully surprised when he and Vegeta did at the end. X3
I loved it for all those reasons and more! (after it FINALLY loaded) I think Lanipator did a great kid Vegeta voice! I was pleasantly surprised. :D

I died

Grandpa Gohan throwing Goku in the air repeatedly then dropping him made me lose my shit.

And Chris Sabat being in there was great

Finally saw it. Eh, not my favorite, but it's great to have more TFS. I really didn't notice too many memes, but it's not like I scour the internet looking for them. Looking forward to season 2!
