Hi all,
Now, since when was Goku able to use Kaioken when in his SSJ form?
I'm only curious of this since i recall an episode early on in the Buu saga where Goku was fighting in the Universal Tournament in the "Other World"
I can't remember exactly WHO he was fighting , but i distinctly remember a scene where he uses his Kaioken technique to give him the extra edge in the fight. I believe he was fighting Pikuhan at the time, but i could be wrong.
I'm assuming the strain on his body would have been incredible, considering he had just pushed the SSJ form to its "maximum" (at the time) whilst fighting Cell.
The question is though, why is this technique never used by Goku in previous fights to give him the edge? Is this just filler?

And probably only usable while dead, when the strain can't kill him.

I have to admit I always wondered why he didn't combine the two power-ups prior to seeing that filler.

Never thought of it, but that makes perfect sense. It would be just how Goku can't stay in Super Saiyan 3 for a long time while on Earth.

Not to mention that from a storywriting perspective, with those two techniques combined his strenght and speed would go through the roof. And that wouldn't make for a very long nor exciting fight.

Because, in my mind at least, it...wouldn't make any sense.
Kaioken increases attributes while putting a tremendous strain on the body. Super Saiyajin gives an even bigger boost, and seems to have none of the cons of the Kaioken technique.
It'd be like trying to combine walking with sprinting ;p
