We know Chi-chi's life story? not really, here's the main points that I can remember from the top of my head:
-she's the Ox King's daughter
-she met Goku and told him they're gonna get married some day
-goes to the tenkaichi budokai and says "oh hey Goku, wanna get married now?"
-has Gohan after becoming married and becomes a strict mother
-bitches about things
-has Goten
-still bitches but is more lenient with Goten
Thats what we got in the entire series.
With Broly, who had 3 movies this is what we get:
-born as a Super Saiyan, and due to his incredibly high power, he's insane
-forced to listen to Goku cry
-has his planet blow up and creates a shield around him and Paragus so they can fly away (that part is ridiculous but thats neither here nor there)
-has fun blowing up planets for a number of years before his insanity becomes too much to control and Paragus makes the mind control device
-lives on "New Vegeta" with Paragus while Paragus prepares his revenge
-meets Vegeta and them and acts normal until he sees Goku and gets really angry
-goes insane, breaks free of Paragus' mind control, kills him, and fights everyone before losing
-comes to earth and either through losing to Goku or just some sort of physical trauma, gets so insane he can't tell the difference between Goten and Goku
-gets killed by Gohan, Goten, and Trunks
From that, I'd say Broly is more developed, especially since he had MUCH less time to do it in.
I know there are things I probably missed about Chi-chi, but I haven't read the manga in quite a while. Please feel free (as I'm sure you would anyway) to add to my list.

Is it because he's non-canon and still manages to kick everyones' butt, or what?
I'm sick of this overmuscled shithead getting so much praise for shrieking KAKAROT and clotheslining everything. And I'm damn sick of him being talked up like he's a match for anybody above Cell.
But, more towards the comic itself, my main problem is not that Broly's here. There's lots of fighters here from the movies or whatnot. I could even, maybe, possibly consider tolerating some other alternate universe's Broly who really is as strong as the fandumb declares existing.
What pushes me over the edge is how they made our universe and Vegetto's universe express worry over Broly. They beat him twenty years ago. Gohan and fucking Goten beat him ten years ago. Why the fuck are Goku, Vegeta, the Gohans, and especially motherfucking Vegetto squealing that Broly's too dangerous/a real threat WHEN THEY KILLED THEIR BROLYS SO EASILY?!
Because Chichi is more developed than Broly. The Turtle is more developed than Broly. Erasa is more developed than Broly.verto wrote:What I don't understand, is how rocketman can bitch about him not being developed too well if hes a huge Chi-chi fan.
But to respond to your Broly problems, I'll say that of all the movie characters him being one of the biggest threats makes the most sence.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

You are overreacting about Broly stuff. I'm sure you are not the only Broly-hater out there. Chill and witness the sweet victory for Vegetto. He's practically already won.Rocketman wrote:It's because he's drastically overstated. Yes, Broly does manage to kick everybody's ass during his movie. Whoopee-fucking doo. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru's #1 biggest fan
Quite frankly, Rocketman's right about Broly. I have no idea why he gets all the attention he does when he's probably one of the WORST and least-interesting movie villains.
I know Salagir and Gogeta Jr have their own thing going on with him, and that's totally their prerogative. But it's kind of ruined when you add it to all the totally undeserved Broly-fellating that's already going on wherever you look in the fandom and even official sources.

This Broli is that very Broli of which you speak. He's successfully killed everything in his own universe and, since his power constantly increases innately, has increased even further in power.Rocketman wrote:I could even, maybe, possibly consider tolerating some other alternate universe's Broly who really is as strong as the fandumb declares existing.
Depending on how many years he's just been floating about in space he could easily be on par with Vegetto in terms of raw strength / ki / chi / energy.
I mean, he's been perfectly preserved in ice, with his power increasing every second of his very existence, meaning if he's been floating in space for centuries and centuries, then he could take on just about anyone.
Or you could look at it this way: Broli is the first big bad of the manga, making him the equivalent of Raditz.

Completely unprovoked douche baggery from the lot of you. There was really no need to explode on Rocketman like that. He has every right to judge this fan comic any way he wants.DNA wrote:Can't you protest somewhere else? You know... somewhere where someone can actually do something about it? *shrug* I guess it's the fact that Broly is THE legendary super saiyan, if we take the myth Vegeta, Ginyu and other's talk about literally. The only thing is that none of the canditates for the title are truly indestructible. Still, for everything else Broly fit the bill after it was revealed that the other saiyan characters could achieve SSJ like Goku did on Namek. After future Trunks came along, what Toriyama was building up to all throughout the Namek/Freeza saga was shoved aside. At least that is a reason I think some like the character despite his lack of depth. That's the main reason I like the character.SSj Kaboom wrote:Quite frankly, Rocketman's right about Broly. Another reason is a lot more lame . . . which is that Broly fits the steroid induced, muscle bound juggernaut type villain who is "soooooo cool"
Still I gotta say I am getting tired of the complaints about Broly being seen as a threat. Of course he is! Anyone who can blow up a planet at this thing is something of a threat. Also I don't see Broly as a completely lame character, just underutilized in the films and yet still over-hyped by the fan base. I am also of the opinion that Vegetto will kick butt after an intense match. Besides, despite what Rocketman said earlier, Vegetto does not seem all that worried.
Anyway, can we all just get along? There are people who like and dislike certain elements of this doujinshi. Which is perfectly reasonable! Yet can we just not say our piece and point out more about what we DO all like?

I can understand the criticism Broly recieves by some fans here. The whole "Kakarotto!!" thing does sorta make him seem like a slightly convoluted, if not boring character. However, I think the appeal that he makes for some fans is his brute strength, insanity, and evil, killing nature. Stuff like that is enough to be considered awesome by some people. Heck, those are the reasons why I like him myself, to be honest.
Toei and the videogame companies understand that, so they're running along with the hype.

Totally not actually calling you a bitch, referencing the meme.
And just like with the Juggernaut, you'll have two sorts of [X-men/Dragonball] fans.
Fans who saw this scene and laughed, thinking it was the funniest thing that ever could have been included in the movie...
And fans who saw that scene, looked down at their feet, sighed, and lost a little faith in humanity.
So, endure. Even when said character is over hyped as the principle selling point of a new game. It'll pass. It'll pass.
Damnit guys, it's getting really hard to suspend belief that Borli's on the same level as Vegetto. It's like trying to watch a George Romero movie and you assholes keep yakking in the back of theater about how "fast running zombies" are a disgrace to zombie/rom/com/whatever genre. Man if this wasn't a free comic I would've thrown my junior mints and hot cheese nachos at you guys! I'm trying to enjoy a completely ludicrous fan comic here, lets have some consideration for audience. Hm?

No he isn't. The legendary Super Saiyan died a thousand years before DB started.Maphisto86 wrote:*shrug* I guess it's the fact that Broly is THE legendary super saiyan, if we take the myth Vegeta, Ginyu and other's talk about literally.

Yeah but according to said "legend", a warrior just like the one before was supposed to have been born from the Saiyan race after a millennium. Of course the whole idea is to be taken with a grain of salt since myths and legends in real life tend to become exagerrated. Vegeta thought he should have rightly been that warrior but according to the Freeza saga, Son Goku is that super saiyan and a paradox because he was not as viscous and bloodthirsty as the original was supposed to be.Rocketman wrote:No he isn't. Yet this obviously did not satisfy Toei and so they played with the idea by creating Broly. I think part of the allure of the character is that he is a saiyan on par with Goku and the others, but unique from all the other super saiyans since is LSSJ form is not the same. It breathed new life into the concept, at least for awhile until we got to see SSJ2 and SSJ3, followed by the REALLY different SSJ4 in GT. Yet even after all that, Broly is the only one to have that characteristic LSSJ form and personality. I feel it is that uniqueness that makes him somewhat popular with the fan base. Still by movie 11, it is apparent that Toei was beating a dead horse with the character (and badly used I might add. Thus Toei left us with an intriguing idea but a rather shallow character who is nothing more than a raving lunatic, whereas most other villains had some motive or distinct personality.
I also am not convinced that Broly lacked the potential to match the likes of our heroes at the end of the Dragonball story (not counting GT). That's not to say that he would stomp all over our heroes like he did in Movie 8 but at least give them a challenge. While Movie 10 is pretty non-canon, Gohan had considerable difficulty fighting Broly at early Buu saga level strength, hinting that Broly had again increased in power after years of "hibernation"
Anyway, as Scarz said, you do not have to take such things to seriously as it is a fan comic.
Not if the money was increasing exponentially, every second.Rocketman wrote:If you got one dollar every second, it would take you over 31 years to have a billion dollars.
