If the U.S.A dub music was put in a Tenkaichi game...

Post by NeptuneKai » Thu Nov 05, 2009 10:16 pm

Which dub music would you want in a Tenkaichi fighting game? Just remember they'd have to work well in said genre. These would be my suggested tracks.

1. DragonBall Z (intro)

Seems fitting to have the into of the dub in the game like Head Cha La was for the Japanese version.

2. Future Trunks

This sounds like it's ripped straight out of Budokai to begin with. It's actually pretty danm cool.

3. Gohan Fights Freeza

Iconic dub DBZ fighting theme nuff' said.

4. Heroic Trunks
Two Trunks themes in one game may seem excessive but it really flows well and I could definitely see it working for a fighting game. I think it even got shafted from the LOG games which is a shame.

5. Gohan and Icarus

Don't look at me that way! We need some light hearted songs in here too. I could totally picture a relaxing Kuririn VS. Goku fight on Roshi's island with this song in the background.

6. Vegeta the Super Saiyan

Worked in the LOG games I'm sure it would work here.

7. Hyperbolic Time Chamber 1:38 onwards

I think everyone agrees 1:38 into the song is the best part....right?

8. Pikkon's Theme
Well composed, would be awesome to have as the main track for the Other World tournament.

9. Goku and Kai Face Off

A criminally overlooked track even by dub fans,

10. Groovy Disco Tech
Yeah this is a selfish request, it's one of my favorite DBZ songs sub or otherwise. I refuse to fight in Hell without it!

11. Weird Circus
This song has just been etched in my mind for dub 19/20. I don't know if I could fight them without it. Short sweet and to the point, it's really opportune for this sort of thing. Maybe I'd remix "Electric Circus" in at the end somehow to lengthen it slightly.

12. Freeza's Death
Another piece of music that would have fit in SO well in the LOG games, it's criminal they left it out. I think it's another song even sub fans would enjoy.

13. Ginyu's Transformation
Don't need to say anything about this one.

14. Perfect Cell's Theme
Nor this one

15.SSJ3 Power Up
Noooor this one.

16.Goku vs. Jeice & Burta

17.Vegeta Fights Frieza
Another one of those short sweet heavy fast tracks.

18.Piccolo Vs. Frieza
See above, I think I'd cut out the slow middle sections between the fast paced chorus (if you'd call it that?)

19. Industrial
I actually never heard this song until recently, I actually really really like it. Very reminiscent of one of my favorite NES games "Journey to Sillius".

Actually, I wouldn't mind any of these in a Tenkaichi game! I actually would like Vegetto's Theme in it too, but maybe remixed or something. The Buu's Fury version oozes badassness, and I would LOVE to play Budokai Tenkaichi 3 with that in the background.

BTW, NeptuneKai, I thought you disliked the dub score. What happened, I'm curious?

Didnt they add the Dub music into Legacy of Goku 2? That game ruled...so Id actually LOVE the Dub music in over the random and generic music they have now.

LOG, LOG2 and Buu's Fury all had dub music. See Venom's comparison project in his signature if you're interested in investigating the adaption further.

Then the game would probably suck. The English dub music is gone, and I hope it never comes back.

I think Scot Morgan should remix all of them. I don't know if it would be legally plausible but in my dream project it would be.

I have a love hate relationship with the dub music really, I think a few tracks by themselves are actually pretty cool and interesting to listen to, it's just when they are put back to back to back to back to back to back to back it gets redundant. Had there been silence mixed in with the different dub themes and if they got rid of the filler music that just sat around in the background I don't think I'd mind it nearly as much. It's not the arranger's fault either, Funi demanded there be music every waking moment and that's what Mr. Morgan had to do. it's a shame really.

I think I see a project in there.

I think it should all be in the games. Dub Music and Japanese.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Agreed, even though I loved the music from the Budokai series but B3 had the best.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

The dub music isn't gone. It's out there in multiple formats and hasn't just up and disappeared.

I agree completely. A game with dub music, the Japanese music, along with the dub voices and the Japanese voices?

Yes!

They should have space on the discs; so when you switch the to JP voice cast, the music should change as well.

That's how I feel, too.
More silence would've been cool, and having the useless cartoony tracks in the background gone would've been a plus.

That would've been a GENIOUS move if that was done in BT3. I played BT3 today and had some good matches, as well. 8)

Goku vs. Jeice & Burter is a definite pick:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLhCMWtQt9s

I would also put in Pikkon's theme and portions of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber theme. And the Energy Disc Theme. And the Goku vs. Majin Vegeta Theme (also known as the Vegetto theme). Man, there's so many Faulconer themes I'd put in there.

There's also another theme that I don't know the name of. It plays during parts of the Vegeta vs Android 18 fight and the Gotenks vs. Buu fight. It's a really heavy rock theme.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

That would be so awesome! You could chose to have either the Dub or Original music, or Mix them both while you fight. I would chose that over the Sparking music any day.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

If you have a 360, you can just put the dub tracks in there. That's what I did.
