Amusing however that in that trailer that there isn't a snippet of audio from the original japanese version.

And what Japanese there is (other than the title logo) is just random, meaningless strings of kana. :)

So I've noticed, now I know a few kana... and those that I could read didn't make much sense.. not to mention that Vegeta had waaayyyy too much characters in his name. >.>

That was exactly why I figured they were doing to make it look cooler. Is it meaningless in the sense that you end up with stuff like "Raichudaichugokukubooboo" or is it meaningless in the sense you get annoying phrases like "See Goku. See Goku Fight. SEE GOKU FIGHT IN ULTIMATE UNCUT SPECIAL EDITION STYLE!"? :P

Nevertheless, Judging by the screencaps on the site, The picture quality looks exceptional! And at least they put some effort into putting in some semi-interesting special features.

Y'know, you'd think they'd at least put some effort into getting the katakana right, seeing as how they employ several people fluent in Japanese...

I feel like it's an insult to my intelligence, actually.

The official DBZ site has a new banner, and Best Buy has a picture of the Starter Set with Goku figure! :)

Probably not ¬_¬

It's meaningless in the same sense that "dsafjmcwaeriohjfg" is not an English word (or a word in any language, for all I know). It uses the same characters that the language uses, but the combinations make absolutely no sense.

Its reverse Engrish, FUNimation is using Katakana for cool factor ignoring the fact its all gibberish. But at least with Engrish you get funny phrases like "do not stick knife into children" - this is just nonsense...

It should be the same figure that was released in the Goku Vs. Raditz (Brother Vs. Brother) 2-Pack.

They couldn't even get the episode previews from Toei, I seriously doubt they'll be able to obtain any of the extras (they were mostly commercials and compilations of clips from other countries, and one compilation that mocked the english censorship, anyway).

However, you'll get 'OMFG U WNT GOKUU AND VEGETA 2 GET ALONG' etc, and so forth. :P

I normally don't care about extras when it comes to buying dvds, but that backstage with Mr. Sabat and Mr. Schemmel does look nice.

Wishful thinking... but we can still hope, the are promising a product "filled with extras".

When they say uncut, do they mean it's going to be like the subs?

It'll be uncut dub + subtitled Japanese, same as the other FUNimation DBZ DVDs. The only difference is the fact that these episodes were never released uncut during their initial run in the US, so FUNi is playing that up.
