Yeah, I could have sworn that one of the recent ones actually separated it out. Thanks.

Akkuman "What-If?" for the total win! :D Then again, Gogeta vs Vegetto is pretty awesome, too...
I personally can't wait to learn more about those What-Ifs, espicially this Gogeta v. Vegetto story.

Lé sigh. Hurry up and update, GameFAQ!!

It's pretty simple. It's just an impossible situation that they create a fight out of.

Joji Yanami does a little narration about how one uses the fusion dance and one uses the Potara earrings, and the two fusions briefly banter back and forth a little bit, kinda excited to see which one is stronger.

It's two separate battles (the first represented by Gogeta, and the second by Vegetto), and listed as "parts"... so you assume it's a continuation of the first one... but it's really not. Part 2 is really just a re-enactment of the first one as if it didn't happen, but playing as Vegetto.

In the first fight Gogeta wins (since you control him), and Vegetto concedes that perhaps the dance is the stronger of the two... and then wants an immediate re-match... but Gogeta says that the fusion is about to wear off, so they'll have to wait on that (and I think he says that's his real weakness).

In the second fight Vegetto wins (since you control him), but at the end Gogeta asks Vegetto what he plans to do about Bulma and Chi-Chi... so Vegetto gets all wide-eyed and confused about what to do with the two families (it's pretty neat seeing Vegetto acting a little wacky).

All the while during the fights, Goten and Trunks are doing some sideline-banter about how weird it is, and how it seems that if their dads are stuck together, they're kinda like brothers, now!

And then there's Dodoria and Zarbon trying out for Ginyu-Tokusentai...

That sounds fantastically fun. I do wish more could be done, though. I hope any sequels (assuming this becomes a trilogy) continue these What-Ifs. It'd be nice if a RB trilogy became known for it's What-Ifs.

Since Bandai seems to be paying the site at least a sliver of attention, I'd hope they get the message for some more original plot lines in games. I'd totally love to see a series of games that allowed for one to play through original plot lines as the main [story mode] focus of the game.

The one thing I enjoy about the game so far are the graphics and the huge areas that it's has. The cut-scenes could have been done better but some scenes were just epic and well done like Piccolo sacrificed himself to save Gohan from Nappa's blast IMO.

Right now I'm at the in the middle of the Freeza arc. And I give the game a 8/10 so far, once I finish it then my rating might change.

It very well may be Sabat. He's performed the voice in place of Clarke on at least one occasion
That was just a typo. Cell was voiced by Clark in Super Dragonball Z.

I might just wait until Christmas before I get this game, however if she gets the chance, I might have my girlfriend rent it out for a few days so I can at least have a few online matches with you guys(she works at Gamestop 8) ). I'm surprised with IGN's review, they usually like most Dragonball games.

Looking forward to the review and of course the contest. After all nothing beats free and your contests are always fun to do.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Speaking of new voice actors, after watching a few videos on youtube I believe Chiaotzu is voiced by Brina Palencia as opposed to Monika Antonelli. He sounds an awful lot like Funimation's Tony Tony Chopper in some dialogue from story mode.

She was the voice in Meteor too? Oops old news then.

But she still sounds a lot like Chopper in Chaozu's story mode dialogue

I seriously might buy the game just for that.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Did she play Arale in the anime? I know that Brice Armstrong played Senbei.

Nope, Palencia is relatively new the anime (I think she began a year or two back).

Well that's odd. I stopped by the GameStop by my work today and asked them to check out the price by ringing it up.

It came up to around $43 including tax which means its ringing up for $39.99. When I asked them about it they said its a promotional sale where they take an additional ten dollars off.

I didn't have the cash to pick it up but they said the sale could last through Sunday. I'll pick it up Friday if the sale is still going on. :P

Oh and I saw a little tag underneath the game on the rack that stated that the initial price drop is good till the 31st, I think.

You play the story missions a second time to earn stars out of them.

@brad redfield:

That can't be right. I specifically went to Gamestop today to check on this supposed sale, and it was a no go.

The game itself is stickered at 49.99, but i was only going to bite at the rumored 39.99 price point. I asked the individual to please check the price in the computer, and it rang up at 50.

I've never heard of certain gamestop stores having sales while excluding others. Additionally, there is no information to back up this claim on their website.

To be a bit more specific, you must meet certain requirements as well. Clearing the mission on hard will unlock a star. Each level also has two additional stars. You can check the mission requirements to find out how to get the stars. For example, in the Broly fight (from movie 8 ) you can get a star by landing 50 or more ki blasts.

I can back Brad up on this; I went in to pick up the game on Tuesday (I'm in California, myself), and the guy who rung me up mentioned the same promotion. $40 was the bottom line for me (before tax), and they even threw in the pre-order code.. despite the fact that I hadn't pre-ordered. Pretty sweet deal for somebody who was mostly on the fence about the game. :)

Yeah, I don't know what the hell is going on. I initially heard about this through GameFAQs but its also up on Cheap Ass Gamer: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/sho ... p?t=242406

We get conflicting reports (That's GameStop for you.) there saying it was for release day only or the sale is good through Friday.

I played for a few hours last night and agree with IGN that it's a bit of a step back for the Sparking/BT/RB series.

I thought they perfected the gameplay system in Sparking Meteor, but now the control feels all clunky and not as responsive. Plus a lot of the controls have been remapped which makes it annoying to transition if you got used to the old setup from the previous games.

Then again, I'm playing the 360 version and I don't like it's controller for these types of games since I prefer the PS3 one more. I'd say pass.
