I thought they perfected the gameplay system in Sparking Meteor, but now the control feels all clunky and not as responsive. Plus a lot of the controls have been remapped which makes it annoying to transition if you got used to the old setup from the previous games.

Then again, I'm playing the 360 version and I don't like it's controller for these types of games since I prefer the PS3 one more. I'd say pass.
It takes a while to get used to the controls is all, I think. It started out slow and clunky the first few times I played, but my God last night I had the most epic battle ever.

Myself as Bardock, and this guy as SSJ2 Vegeta, we were goin' at it. The combo where you smack the opponent and appear behind him? Yeah, I started one and it lasted forever. We countered/hit at least eight times each. In one combo.

What about the Japanese cast? Since there's no Z nor Kai in the title, I'm curious to know which actors are voicing characters like Nappa, Zarbon or Ginyu.

Does anyone have a complete list of all the team attacks? So far I've only done Bros. Kamehameha, Speacial Beam, and Buu Volleyball.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

It's the Kai actors. I fired up the game in Japanese just so I could pierce the Heavens with my drill. It was pretty cool.

I've been out of the loop for a while... what is the complete cast? I tried the official site, but they don't even show SS3 Vegeta or Videl, that I can see. If it's already been run down in this thread, please just point the way.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Wait.....there are people from Gurren Lagaan doing VA's in Kai? Or was that just a joke?

I don't know about the others but the voice actor for Ginyu is also the voice actor for Kamina.

Kamina's VA does Ginyu, and he's just as hot blooded. It's the basis for my avatar at the moment.

On another topic, is there anybody who wants to hold a lil' tourney some time tomorrow? Or maybe the weekend?

I'm definitely game.

The other day, ShadowDude, KingdomHeartless(I think), and I we're in our own little tourney...until ShadowDude had to go God-mode with his Vegito...

Was coming into respond, but it looks like folks have done so already :). I'll be talking a little bit about it in my review, too, but many of the Kai replacements are showing up in the game... including some that don't make much sense, considering their original voices showed up to do stuff as recently at Burst Limit 'n stuffage.

Another interesting situation is that, yeah, Kozo Shioya is doing Majin Buu... but not Gurd... since it's his Kai voice there.

The voice changes so far:

Tenshinhan = Hikaru Midorikawa (hurray! no more Mitsuaki Madono)
Nappa = Tetsu Inada
Dodoria = Takashi Nagasako
Zarbon = Hiroaki Miura
Gurd = Yasuhiro Takato
Jheece = Daisuke Kishio
Butta = Masaya Onosaka
Recoome = Seiji Sasaki
Ginyu = Katsuyuki Konishi

I think using the Kai VAs in the games now has more to do with providing a more unified front from here on out.

I like this game...I mean I REALLY like this game. I'll come back with a more in depth opinion later but man what an improvement.

So the game just crashed on me (totally froze up, yet the music's still playing) right as I'm about to win a match on hard for another star.

Nice.

For the first time ever playing a Spike Dragonball Z game I truly feel every character plays in their own unique fashion. They all have different base and heavy attacks and to make matters even better they all get their own special physical move. On top of that there is the usual KI attacks/Rush attacks and ultimates which have always been very unique to the multiple characters since Sparking Neo.

Many people call this a downgrade from Sparking Meteor but I would advise them not to look at it that way. Raging Blast is to the Sparking series as Megaman X is to Megaman. They share a similar engine and similar models but there is a LOT of different gameplay elements. Mentioning of the character models everything really looks fabulous in this game. The characters finally move fluidly and change facial expressions during battle and in post/pre battle taunts. The ultimate attacks look great and so do the rushes. However the normal Kamehameha’s and similar minor beam attacks aren’t as impressive and look like they are somewhat absorbed into the opponent or just kind of tip them over.

The stages are huge length and width wise. It gives you a LOT of room to teleport around and do combos.
You never seem to get lost in them thanks to the auto homing dash button which is really handy. Which brings me to the controls. I’m not going to lie they take a lot of getting used to but the tutorial really helps matters. It is EXTREMELY thorough and helps new players ease into the control scheme. I can only hope they remain as thorough in future sequels. All of the impressive dashing and teleporting combos are very easily pulled off now which makes life much easier and really shows off the graphics of this game. It’s more fun then it looks dashing at your opponent from behind or bouncing your opponent around like a Ping-Pong ball. All of the special dash moves really help Raging Blast emulate the show to a T.

One major gripe is the camera. It goes extremely spastic when you and your opponent are dashing all over trying to one up each other. Or when you and your opponent are smashed up against a wall. The camera can be slightly adjusted but due to the fast paced nature of this game it’s hard to reposition it and keep on your toes fighting the opponent. At times thanks to the camera you get these “Final Bout” moments where you’re wildly punching and shooting KI into the air or trying to position yourself next to the opponent to no avail.

Story Mode is the common place Saiyajin through Boo saga with some what-ifs sprinkled in. Don’t expect it to be like Meteor with optional cutscenes, they just sort of happen every time you get your opponent down to a certain amount of health. The cutscenes are mundane still models talking to each other saying the stuff you’ve probably heard them say 100 times before (luckily they are skippable). For all means and purposes they get the story across well and any details they don’t fit into the cutscenes can be read about in the story recap option. They go through pretty much all of the major battles which is fine with me. I just hope next time around they’ll add some flare or pizzaz to the yawn inspiring nature of these matches.The AI is much smarter in this game and provides a magnificent challenge on normal mode. The same goes for the AI in duel and tournament mode.

The tournament mode’s main new addition is the rules setting where you can choose a good amount of options. I find this really cool. You can choose if you want “Z-fighters only” or “Villains only” or what power you want your opponents at. The battle commentary by Mr.Announcer (which you can turn on or off) is actually pretty fun and gets the mood of the show across very well.

The special modes are the typical “Survival” and “KO” stuff many people tend to ignore. I do like the arcade mode though. It’s great for someone who just wants to spend 10 rounds fighting and then set the game down.

The characters are now all customizable with different attacks and ultimates. A wonderful move on Spike’s part. We now no longer need 4 Gokus or Vegetas instead we just change the move pool and costumes accordingly. You can boost your characters attack, defense and KI through these different tiles. I don’t really play around with this kind of stuff but at a glance it looks very customizable.

Just a misc. few notes. I love how they added subtitles to the post/pre match comments. Being a fan of the Japanese version it’s great to know what the characters are saying in these situations. They added TONS of special dialogue between different characters which is the kind of thing I enjoy immensely. Unfortunately no Dabra. One would have to wonder why Chouzu or Ghurd got billing over him.

Overall this is the best Dragonball game by Spike I’ve played and it’s gunning for my top ten list. I’d give it a solid 7/10.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Speaking of a change in VAs, did anyone notice Dadoria has a new VA for the DUB? I like it. Speaking of the English cast, I have to give them some credit with this game, they did a good job. Think I might jump to the Japanese cast next play through, just to have some variety.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Reading all these reviews and impressions... Well, I'm just glad that a lot of these little things were put into the game. Little things that I totally called. :twisted:

Good thing to know is that the full version of Progression (with Kageyama lyrics) is available in the game once you unlock "The Strongest Super Saiyan 3" What-If and beat it in any difficulty the first time. I got all the characters unlocked. Based on the character selection screen, it looks like there will be downloadable characters as the extra content later on. Hoping for Chibi Son Goku, Piccolo Daimao, Arale, Jackie Chun/Muten Roshi, and Taopaipai just to fill out the early Dragon Ball roster.

Oh wow, really? That sounds awesome, at least for me coming from METEOR. How does one change the move pools? Because I was thinking...if there is but one Gokû who can do the regular Genki Dama how does he do the Super Genki Dama, too? Or Instantaneous KameHame-Ha?
