What do you plan to do with your season sets?
Hello everyone, it's good to be back. I have not been on in quite a while so please forgive me for my ignorance if this topic has already been discussed. To all of you who much like myself was suckered into purchasing the orange bricks, and are going to replace them with the Dragon Boxes, what do you intend to do with them? Will you sell them to build funds for the Dragon Boxes, give them away, burn them, throw them in the trash etc.? Or will you simply keep them and leave them to rot on your DVD shelf? Whatever it is let me know about it.
As for me? Well, the discs would probably make pretty good toilet seat covers and I could use the books to wipe my ass xD

I'm going to buy the last set that I need for the full collection. I'll probably keep them around until my bothers are old enough, then I'll give the sets to them. Can't complain about crappy quality if it's free (also if I don't tell them it's crappy then they won't know).
I'll probably give them all my Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT season sets too, IF FUNi releases the Dragon Box for those as well.
I am hoping to get my hands on the Blu-Ray of all the Z movies before they go out of print. Those are for me.

Ever since the day the FUNiBoxes were announced, it's been my plan to 'trade in' my Season Sets towards them. I did the same thing with my movie singles as the Double Features were releasing.
There's an all-too-rare MovieStop barely ten minutes from my home, and I think this might be a good opportunity to actually become a member and get their discounts and better trade-in values from it.

I meant to sell mine off on eBay or Amazon, but never got around to it.
So, in all honesty, they'll probably sit on my shelf until I get their DragonBox equivalents. And then I'll find something to do with them... Maybe give them to a kid cousin, or something.

I think it'd be impossible to sell my Season one because when I got it from Best Buy I noticed a scratch on Disc 5 I mean I used an eyeglass cleaner and it worked but I don't think anyone will take it unless someone on the forum is willing to take them from $10~$15. Or maybe I could inform the buyer.

Smart move, but I don't think you'll have to worry about it. On Amazon, the DBox is #15 in Anime, #12 in FUNimation, and #11 in Dragonball with other Dragonball releases that have been around for a long time (meaning more time to sell lots of copies) mostly being in the way of the DBox being any higher than that.[/b]Kunzait_83 wrote:Selling mine off as the Dbox equivalents are released. I don't want to sell all of them off all in one shot right off the bat just in case for whatever reason the FUNiBoxes are cancelled mid-release: cause then I'd have to buy back the rest from wherever the Boxes left off all over again. Which would suck. Gotta always be prepared for the worst case scenario.

What if dub fans realize what they want aren't on the Dragon Boxes, and stick with their season sets? I'm sure that when DBox 2 rolls around, its Amazon rank won't be near as high as the first DBox if this happens.Kendamu wrote:Smart move, but I don't think you'll have to worry about it. Though I'm confident in FUNi since they've already bought the masters from Toei.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

We've had months for people to find out what exactly these sets are about. It's not really uncommon knowledge that the US broadcast music isn't on here. That, and FUNi knows what crowd they're appealing to on this one. It's not like they're expecting the "nine-year-olds" to eat this up this time.Krakabeast wrote:What if dub fans realize what they want aren't on the Dragon Boxes, and stick with their season sets? That, and I'm sure they know that if they cancel this in mid-release, they'll lose a decent chunk of customers.
