I merely think it's an obsession or entitlement complex. I don't see two versions, I just think it's an obsession with Japanese culture that everything has to be perfect. He even complains about the names being off. Which to me is really unheard of. Because they are so close to begin with.
... what are you even
talking about here...?

Beyond having no clue what you're trying to say, I don't see what anyone's preference with naming schemes has to do with the production and release format of the show...
To answer your question shortly. It's the way Funimation advertised it. I would have less problems with Funimation if they just admitted their lies. But ever since their Dragon Box releases, they had lied more. So I think what Funimation did was horrible and even more horrible now since they released the Dragon box sets. They still enforce their orange box sets.
Now here is the long answer.
Good question, I don't know what he is complaining about the dub names. But yes, there are people here that are complaining about names. Like Krillin is Kuillin. Something like that. He actually mentions dub names as a con for a dbz video game he was reviewing. Tenshinhan should be Tenshinhan (look your word filter actually filtered it out T.i.e.n). Something like that. And destructo disc should be kienzan. <---- Big deal. (Both sound cool, and it's the same move)
I mean everything has to be 100% exactly accurate translated or people get pissy over DBZ (This to me seems like a definition of the hardcore fans Funimation is talking about actually). They think it's cool to say the Japanese names. This is where people get the two fanbases from. And this is where they get the marketing from. Funimation is trying to use this is a way to market their Dragon box. It has everything to do with the show.
And this is where they think the Dragon Box is only for a certain type of fanbase. And this is where the entitlement complex comes in.
I think it's dumb, I don't think there is much of a difference and I don't think there is two versions of the show. For one thing the video is uncut. So the video is always going to be the same. The second thing, is the plot is always going to be the same. Villian gets killed. The action. So why should we create or say there is two different fanbases? Why does Funimation market it this way? I think it's horrible.
I think the Dragonbox is just an higher quality release than the orange box sets that everyone should be entitled to. Not how Funimation is marketing it the way they are. Plus, they aren't apologizing for the orange box sets that they lied. And it pretty much sums up my answer for the topic question.

What do you want, them to take every orange brick and burn them? To go, "Yeah, we fucked up! lolz" The thing is, they didn't as the orange bricks sold extremely well. As far as a business standpoint goes it was a success and it would actually be BAD business to disown the orange bricks (as that might affect the sales of the Blue/green bricks).
I really, REALLY want to know why people are bitching about the Dragon Box marketing now. How ungrateful and butthurt can people be?
Simple, I just want them to admit they lied about it. They don't necessarily have to do a recall and order them all back from people. Then the next thing I want them to do is knock it off with the hard core fan or purist stuff. I want them to advertise it for everyone.
