Recommend any good fanfiction?

Yeah, I'm one of those fans. Shoot me. D: I love a good read, but some days I just don't feel like wading through the monstrosity that is the The Pit (aka fanfiction.net).

I'll kick things off with a rec of my own: Consacra by Cantare.

I love this fic. It takes an in-depth look at the characters post-Cell. Vegeta goes to a confessional (for the sheer hell of it) and is taunted by someone from his past; Piccolo deals with the Son family without Goku; Android 18 is pregnant and questioning her (in)humanity. A plot unfolds, looping the three of them into it somehow. Very thought-provoking and well-written.

Alright, let's see here. Well, nothing wrong with a little shameless self-plug to start things off, eh?

DragonBall GT: Revised, or just 'GTR' for short. My epic, acclaimed GT rewrite fanfiction. The concept is basically "GT minus the suck," in which I fix plotholes, improve character and story concepts, shift focus away from Goku, etc. Updates don't happen as often as I or anyone else would like, but my feedback's been positive so far.

Next, there's the works of my main dawg, Xyex. He's got several huge, complex alternate-universes set up, and his planning and plots are top-notch.

Next, here's another GT Rewrite, entitled Goku's Humored, by LauraNeatO. It hasn't updated in a while, but what's there is a great read. It's a GT rewrite, although a less drastic one than mine. It's the best Trunks x Pan fic I've ever read, because the light-hearted nature of the pairing only serves as a supplement to an already-good plot.

Last on the list of epic fanfics is Rebirth of the Dragon. It tells the story of Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo's young descendants as they journey to recreate and find the Dragon Balls. That short description may sound a bit cliché, but trust me, this one's good. What's better, it's complete, and has a sequel in-progress. I even did some fanart of the main characters a long while back (which I'd like to redo sometime soon...).

Now let's move the focus away from the long, serious titles to those a little shorter and more light-hearted. First off, the short, hilariously-random fics by Madam Captain are a must-read if you like seeing the DBZ characters just acting like total goofballs. The writing is sharp, witty, and totally irreverent. Then in sort of the same vein is DBZ Short Stories by eggamagga. They average about a page long, and the quality varies, but the gut-busters are more than worth it.

Actually, it's a bit embarrassing posting up these nearly 3 year-old drawings, considering they really suck. But I actually plan on re-starting this series really soon, to take a break from another fan-comic I've been drawing.

So, anyway, you can go there to see the general gist of it, but expect a newer/better version from me real soon!

I just wanted to say, the short stories kaboom posted are great, I was reading through them a while ago, got halfway through and forgot about them

Hahaha, sorry to disappoint!

Personally I like smut as much as anyone else, however exposure to certain DBZ hentai has me mentally scarred for life.

I won't go into details.

I'm actually working on something myself. It's nothing special, but I do think I do a decent job writing. It's about what might have happened had Piccolo Daimao killed Son Goku.

*insert headbanging* Now THAT is a classic my friends. God I love this fucked up little fanfic! Though out of all of Ash the Wanderer's fics my favorite was always "Once We Were Heroes", really touching stuff.
