Wow! I haven't heard that song for a while, I'm sure that's the opening and ending song that aired in the UK.
Even though I converted to strictly the Japanese version... Hearing Rock The Dragon still gets me amped and is still catchy.
Lots of theme songs have that effect, even if the show's not as cool, or didn't age as well. Know for myself, while thought that Magical Doremi show 4kids did was a little girls cartoon that didn't hold my interest, thought the theme song was cute and catchy. Also back when Androids/Cell saga was on CN, they were showing Silverhawks reruns and noticed unlike its sister show Thundercats it wasn't as interesting as it was when I was younger. Its theme song still rocks though.
You know, one would wonder... What if Pioneer did everything right the first time around, kept everything uncut and was close to the script, released the DVD's and VHS's using all the art... and somehow later on kept the show going and got the rights to the Dragonbox.
With things like that, I'm not so sure, and when it comes to those sort of wondering if another company doing DBZ, can only think of 3 words... Age of Apocalypse.

I wouldn't mind a small taste of what VIZ would do with Dragon Ball.

Don't you remember how they censored the manga? I wouldn't want that in the anime.

They handle their anime and manga differently, though. An uncut DBZ dub from them wouldn't be so bad.

Well I would like to know if they would do a faithful dub or would they pull a FUNi and completely change the script?

As long as it's Viz ONLY, and no other parties such as ShoPro Entertainment, it'll be faithful.

I guess I'll take your word for it and guess that ShoPro is like Saban. But anyways I love these pictures of the boxes and DVDs I saw arrival for like $4 bucks or so at a DVD store I was in. I'm gonna pick it up next time I'm there.

Yeah, I have the Arrival disc just for that reason. I also have one of the GT singles so I can hear "Step into the Grand Tour" in case I need something to ROFL about. I'm glad we have actual English versions of the GT songs now, but... it's not like you throw out all your old photo albums just because you lose some weight.

By the way, while seeing ending theme, noticed Ron Wasserman's name in the credits. So guy who did the original Power Rangers theme was involved with DBZ. Interesting.

At the time Saban had a heavy hand in DBZ and was the owner of Power Rangers.

I feel like Saban was the 4Kids of the late 90's.

With any luck, 4Kids will be just as irrelevant as Saban is in the future.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Shuki Levy who composed music for DBZ also composed music for Power Rangers. In fact, some of the songs are identical.

Which ones? I remember a lot of Sabanball Z songs but I don't remember too many Power Rangers songs that don't have lyrics.

Shuki Levy did not compose the music for Power Rangers. Ron Wasserman (under the pseudonym of "Aaron Waters") did. He's also the guy who sings the early PR theme and insert songs. Levy served as a producer for PR.

I've always kind of suspected that Wasserman was involved with the early DBZ dub to some capacity, or at least involved with writing Rock the Dragon.

Holy crap. I guess I don't think about music much when it's in a show, but that was the exact same song. But in Power Rangers it was overshadowed by those damned pyrotechnics that kept going off in the background seemingly without provocation, and in DBZ it was covered by random grunts and yells.

It's been about a year since I re-watched MMPR, and as much as I can remember, I never heard those DBZ cues in it. Now, this doesn't dismiss is from being included in future seasons (possibly Zeo, since it and Sabanball Z was produced at roughly the same time I think).
