MY FRIEND'S DAD JUST WON THE OSCAR FOR BEST ANIMATED SHORT!!! :o :o :o

It's called 'Ryan.' Here's a mini-review I found of it:

At 14 minutes, "Ryan" not only was the longest animated short but arguably the most ambitious. Chris Landreth's film, which won several awards at the Festival de Cannes, is, in effect, a surreally animated encounter with real-life animator Ryan Larkin, who was Oscar nominated in 1970 for his short "En marchant." Larkin is portrayed as a talented man whose demons and alcoholism led him to become a panhandler.

Wow! I just saw that!

Now I can say that I have a friend who has a friend who's dad won an Oscar! lol jk

Congrats! I was pissed they didn't even show a clip. As a future animator, I'd love to see his film!

Daughter actually. We're in the same Drama class.

The video can be downloaded here:http://www.nfb.ca/oscars2005/nfbpop2.html

The nominee next to him did a funny short called "Guard Dog" where a dog would imagine everything was out to kill its master while they were out for a walk. To "protect" its master, the dog would bark at everything. In the end you see the dog running in circles barking like crazy. Turns out in doing this he choked his master with the leash.

Excellent...now I can say I know this dude on the Internets who knows a girl whose father won an Oscar and a nominee for an Oscar was Clint Eastwood who directed a movie called Mystic River which Kevin Bacon was in. Yeah.

That was some real real real creative shit. I'm sure you gave her a congrats for her father. He is a genius and I see why he won the Oscar. From what I hear they didn't show a clip from it. That's bull. Genius like that has to be exposed to the world. So I guess I am going to take this time to give your friend's father....ugh...

....mad props yo...
