Whats "Follow The Nimbus Cloud" Extra?

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Wed Mar 02, 2005 1:03 am

On the Uncut Vegeta saga DVD's there is an extra called "Follow The Nimbus Cloud" On Amazon.com someone said:

"Follow The Nimbus Cloud: Feature added to show the difference in footage from the Edited and Uncut that can be choosen from the menu"

This sounds like maybe the Nimbus cloud would pop up on the screen when there was a cut from the Pioneer version.

Anyone know for sure?

I would imagine it'd be a lot like Infinifilm DVDs. When Kinto'Un pops up, you push the enter button and it'll show a comparison. At least that's my guess...

In that case, the Kinto-Un would be up for incredibly long periods of time, wouldn't it?

Or, it could be, that when there's a scene that was originally cut, the Nimbus just appears in the corner for the duration, so you can see everything that you'd missed first time through.

Or it could be a 'Pop-up Video' Type thing where the cloud shows up during where something was cut and tells you specifically what wasn't there.

In the DVD of The Matrix (the first one), there was a feature entitled "follow the white rabbit." Every time the rabbit appeared on the screen, you'd press <ENTER> on your remote and it'd take you to an explanation of a visual effect. Seems to be what they're riffing on with "follow the nimbus cloud."

Since it's a feature, you could most likely switch it on and off, right?

On every DVD with such a feature, it has to be switched on first before it can be used.

It'll just play the Pioneer version or compare the scenes...
