Voice actors changed for the videogames?
Have any dub voice actors been changed for the videogames? I was looking up who voiced Choutzu and found about 3 different V.A's. I'm just curious if any dub fans could help me out.
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

Brina Palencia voices Chaozu and Pu'erh in the video games, as well as Arale. Colleen Clinkenbeard also voiced #18 in a Shin Budôkai game, as well as Mai in Sparking METEOR.NeptuneKai wrote:Have any dub voice actors been changed for the videogames? Only for Cell, though. For Tambourine he used his real name.Shiyonasan wrote:Just as a reference, Dartanian Nickelback is actually Dameon Clarke. He just went by Dartanian Nickelback in Sparking Meteor for some reason....
I believe it is because he is SAG, and FUNimation doesn't pay SAG.

I forgot about that. It's kind of odd how he went by one name for one character and another for another character. It could be because of the SAG thing though like you said.JulieYBM wrote:Only for Cell, though. "Random?" I'd say it was more the game came out long before FUNi would use their actors, and the game was licensed by Bandai America, who typically use Bang Zoom! actors. I'd hadly call them "random."SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:Didn't Steve Blum play Goku in Final Bout?
In fact didn't they use random people for that game instead of the Funimation actors?

Did anybody actually believe that someone would be cruel enough to name their child "Dartanian Nickelback"?Shiyonasan wrote:Just as a reference, Dartanian Nickelback is actually Dameon Clarke. He just went by Dartanian Nickelback in Sparking Meteor for some reason....
Anyone know why he went by that name anyway?

ok maybe not random but damn was it offsetting. The voice acting was just terrible.B wrote:"Random?" I also thought it was funny how they used american audio for the character select screen and KO's but during the fight it stayed the Japanese audio.

...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Yeah, Funimation's productions are non-union last I checked. I met Eric Vale with my sister a few weeks ago and he told me that Demeon is LA based now and that's him doing the voice of Cell in the video games. It's good to get some clarification on that because when I heard about the name "Dartanian Nickelback" from a friend of mine, it confused the hell out of me.Shiyonasan wrote:I forgot about that. Sabat is credited as Cell in at least two games to my knowledge (Shin Budokai 2 and Supersonic Warriors 2).
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!
Most recently, ie Raging Blast, there's a new person voicing Cell. His name escapes me once again.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
