He's updated his Facebook as of a couple of weeks ago, and he said he would be going home "soon".
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!
^ Agreed. The silence was kinda unnerving. It sounds like things are better, though...SonGokuGT wrote:That's good to hear, I was wondering if there were any updates regarding his health. The S wrote:He's updated his Facebook as of a couple of weeks ago, and he said he would be going home "soon".

I was with you up to that point.desirecampbell wrote: The only thing any dub can do is be different from the original, be less like Dragon Ball.
An adaptation is not necessarily a watered down, or downgraded version of the original. And the various script adaptations of DBZ are not complete reworkings of the story, so they can barely be called that. When media is translated into various different languages, nothing is really lost, unless intentionally so (such as in Ocean and Funimation's early dubs ) . Even VegettoEX has mentioned how accurate the Spanish dub from Mexico is, and from what I have seen from the Coolers Revenge DVD ( in which you can choose the Spanish dub, with its own unique English subtitles ) , even though its very close, most every line is completely reworded.
The point is that even when you rework the dialogue, as long as whats originally intended to be said is still basically said, and as long as its in the manner that character is intended to say it, adapting a script does not make it " less like " its original counterpart. And Funimation, for all of their woefull mistakes in the past, do actually have a pretty accurate dub.
Now, if they could only recast some of their actors, and stop with all of that extraneuos dialogue ( crosses fingers for Kai ) .
Oh, and its great to hear that Chris Rager is doing well. I was getting a little worried there.

They have plenty of accurate dubs.samuraigundam wrote:And Funimation, for all of their woefull mistakes in the past, do actually have a pretty accurate dub.
Just not for DBZ.
I'm glad Rager is getting better, though.
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I'm saying they now have a dub thats pretty close to the original script, although they sometimes place extra lines where the original had none. For example, moments of silence in the original are sometimes filled with extra lines of dialogue in the Funi dub, hence " pretty accurate " . It doesnt really take anything away from the original scripts intentions.

This thread is not about the merits or faults of the FUNimation dub. Thus we will not talk about that in this thread. Thus I will not have to eventually lock it after the fourth 'dub vs sub' shitstorm in a month.
