Glad the forums are back. I'll miss the old look of the forums, but out with the old and in with the new!

Hm, it seems either abling BBCode or automatically parsing URLs does the trick... I have no idea what they are, but it worked, apparently.desirecampbell wrote:I see it too. Try re-editing your signature?The Tori-bot wrote:I dislike change in any manifestation.But this'll do, I guess. Shiny.
Is it just me or are bold, italics and URLs not working in my signature? O_o
New to the forum? Just want to know when you'll hit your next posting rank? Ever wondered why some users have special titles, and what they mean? The answers to all these questions and more are waiting for you in the Kanzenshuu Member Hierarchy Guide!!

Here's to a year of no more late month downtimes.

I'd also like to throw in a vote for forums.daizex.com. :3

Hey, my first post over on this new forum! (It's gonna take some getting used to, though...)
I'll go with "forums.daizex.com" as well.

Had to go digging in the fanworks board to find the new link for my sig. I wonder how many other people her have links to now obscure topics that they'll need to search out.

@Amigo Ten:
I could be mistaken, but it doesn't seem like much of anything ultimately changed in the end. At least on the topic side. So, theoretically all you (or, anyone else in your situation) would have had to do was simply replace the old url (i.e. schuby.org) for the new url, potentially saving yourself time from having to search it out unnecessarily.
At least, I've had success doing that a few times when the issue came up. Food for thought.

I like "forum.daizex.com".
Me and that S? We got issues. The relationship is awfully strained.

forum.daizex.com for me as well, though the standard tends to use the plural form of the word.

I haven't used it myself, but it's like a "Favourite" (Friends) and "Ignore" (Foe) feature, where you can be alerted, I think, when a Friend has posted while posts by anybody you have designated a foe will either be truncated so you can see that they've posted but aren't subjected to the contents or they may just be invisible all together.SHINOBI-03 wrote:BTW, what's with the "Friends & Foes" in the control panel?! I mean, we're all friends here, right? riiiiiight?!!
I'm still clinging to the previous version of the forum for my own projects as there are so many useful toys (hacks, in other words) which phpBB3 doesn't have.

Yeah, I noticed that little difference myself...and the singular version just sounds so...wrong. Could a change my vote to 'forums.daizex.com'?Tweaker wrote:forum.daizex.com for me as well, though the standard tends to use the plural form of the word.

Shiny. New job, new laptop, new year, new forums... By the end of February I'll have a new DCU movie, a new apartment and probably a new GF (complete with new GT boxsets!). Everything in my life is so friggin' shiny-new!

Yeah, I was talking with goc about it yesterday. The only thing it isn't doing is added a 'viewtopic.php' when it refers the links (http://db.schuby.org/daizex/viewtopic.php?t=11596 becomes http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/?t=11596), so you can either just type the missing part in yourself, or like you say, replace the board address. Thankfully the data itself has been ported over okay, which is the important part.lost in thought wrote:@Amigo Ten:

Would anyone happen to know what Yahoo [Bot] and Google [Bot] are? I see them listed under the "Who is online" portion of the page, but they don't have links to actual profiles or anything.
Are they just ways of saying "this person is an unregistered guest who came to the site via yahoo or google"?

I hope 'GF' in this case doesn't stand for what I think it does.Dayspring wrote:Shiny. New job, new laptop, new year, new forums... @Bussani:
I've actually got a stop-gap solution for that particular quirk, should Mike want a quick solution. But that's really up to him what he decides to do.
@Chuquita:
As their name suggests, they're bots (i.e. web crawlers) for Yahoo and Google. Without going into too much detail, companies use web crawlers to trawl for new stuff on the internet to expand/update their own search engine index. Wouldn't worry too much about it.

Ah, thank you. :3
I'd never seen such a thing before, so I thought it may have come with the new version of the forums. Now I know.
