Neko Majin Z 5: Final Chapter?!

Post by Chibi Mystic Gohan » Sat Mar 05, 2005 2:30 am

I just picked up the Shonen Jump issue with Neko Majin Z 5, and noticed that the title page says "Neko Majin Zetto Go-Fainaru (Final)"
Does this mean #5 is the last chapter?! I haven't seen any mention of it on the site, so I didn't know.

Not really sure, myself... since I'm not gonna start with it until tomorrow. But the fact that the book coming out next month is labeled "Neko Majin Kanzenban" (i.e. a "complete collection" of all "Neko Majin" works) would seem to suggest such.

But then again, I don't really know. And I'm too tired to check. So there. :)

Semi-off topic, but how do you guys get the pages white when you scan it? It's blue in Jump :P

Now on topic again, wasn't Z supposed to beat the crap out of Usagi Majin and get those Majin Balls and stuff? I thought it would actually have some kind of storyline...

They most likely set the scanner for black and white. Random did that when she scanned a Pokemon manga chapter from a manga magazine.

Or you can set a picture to black & white easily in many picture editing programs... of course then comes the progress of editing out all the bumps and such in the paper.

You set the image to black-and-white, set the contrast at the appropriate spot, then adjust the levels of black and white until most of the paper's imperfections are invisible or easily erased with the brush tool. :)

It's not too hard, in most cases... just time-consuming.

I hope it's not the final chapter. I like nmz.
Then again maybe Toriyama wants to end it at 5 chapters just to keep it short with how long dbz was.
On hiatus.

Well, now that we've had Vegeta, Fat Buu and Son Goku pass by Neko Majin's non-existant door, what else could he use to parody DB(Z) with?

Yeah, I definitely hope it's not the last one. Of course Toriyama doesn't want to have to draw another long manga, but I think 5 issues is too short. Maybe 6 would be good. Or 10.

Or 25... :P

But note that it's a Neko Majin Kanzenban and not a Neko Majin Z Kanzenban. That means it'll include Neko Majin 1+2, Neko Majin Mike and Neko Majin Z 1-5. 2+1+5=8 chapters.

Were Sandland and Kajika considered Kanzenban? They were eventually collected into a tankoubon as well but...

Toriyama has stated before that he'd stick to doing manga that are not over the size of one tankoubon, like the ones he's done recently (Kajika, Cowa!, SandLand). I think that the fact that Goku showed up, marked the end of Neko Majin Z, but I hope I'm wrong.

Mah, personally I am of the opinion that one should end a story/series while it is still fresh. So I wouldn't be very disappointed should volume 5 indeed be the last one.

Yeah I checked mine and it does say final. It's very possible that it is the last one HOWEVER Toriyama's comments on the index indicate nothing of the sort. Personally I think adding Goku to the story was a great climax and finisher to the Z series.

You know what sucks though? The only one I'm missing in the original monthly jump is the first. I got the promotional poster from a shop in Marugame City but I was just 4 days late in picking it up the actual mag >_<

It would be cool if Akira Toriyama would at least make 8 more chapters of Neko Majin. Then he could have a second Neko Majin Kanzenban. From what people are saying it looks like it won't happen, sigh.........
