Ummmmm, can you tell me where you buy your anime at because no complete series in Canada are that cheap to my knowledge, except for short series like OAVs and perhaps when the series has been out for a long time and is considered older. :? Anime, especially in this country is terribly expensive. Perhaps I'm missing something....

Actually I don't buy that much anime aside from DBZ, so I honestly wouldn't know :P I was referring more towards general TV shows, not anime in paticular. However, I could have sworn I saw a large Inuyasha boxset down at Future Shop last week for only about $60 (then again I was probably just daydreaming, because when I honestly think about it there's no way Future Shop would have anything that cheap :( ). I'll take another look when I go down tommorrow though.

That's because North American shows don't need to be dubbed/subbed, liscenced, edited, etc since they're made IN North America. Add all those charges and it makes for one expensive series.

They're okay, I guess. I mean, anything is better than the screen caps. At least FUNimation is making the effort, even if the end product isn't all that spectacular.

Nah don't feel stupid. It's nice to dream.^^ But I'm figuring that Inu-Yasha set is likely only the first 6 discs or something. It's VIZ and they're one of the most expensive and simultaneously most stingy anime companies out there. Ya it has to be knowing them. I know that the Canadian price for only 12 episodes of Maison Ikkoku, another series they put out is around $70!

Anyway, back on topic. I don't think the covers are that bad really. They're definitely a couple of notches up from the first ones put out by Funi.

It depends. Suncoast is rediculusly expensive. They can charge up to $30 for an anime DVD. Best Buy on the other hand is quite reasonable. They charge about $17 for a DVD. Then you got online stores like Amazon, that always vary in price.

Meanwhile, I got all of Fruits Basket for $60 a couple of months ago. 26 episodes.

Sorry FUNimation, with the exception of that series which came at high recommendation, you won't have my business with practices like this.

These original art pieces that FUNimation has been getting for their covers are super good.

Hold out and wait for boxed sets. Cheaper in the long run. :D
