My journey with the Dragon Box.

Post by SHINOBI-03 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 1:21 pm

We had some discussions about the capability to watch all of DBZ episodes.

Today, I finally got the chance to sit down and watch my Dragon Box episodes, and thought: "Hey... I'm going to watch all the episodes from the start... why don't I make a log or something to see how long will it take for me to watch it all...!!"

And so, I've decided to do so.

Day #001:

Date: Tuesday, January 19th, 2010.

Episodes: 001 - 014

Number of episodes: 14

Most enjoyed episodes of the day:
  • - 003: All Right! This is the Strongest Combo in the World!
    - 004: Piccolo's Trump Card! Gohan, the Crybaby-kun
    - 009: Sorry, Robot-san -- The Desert of Vanishing Tears
    - 012: Catnap on the Serpentine Road -- Goku Takes a Tumble
    - 013: Hands off! Yama-sama's Secret Fruit
    - 014: Such Sweet Temptation! The Snake Princess-sama's Hospitality
More to come in the future.

Wow, 14 episodes in one day, huh? That's quite a number (you must have a helluva lot of spare time).

I have 8 months till I start my final HD semester, plus I'm waiting till I receive answers from job interviews.

So, yeah. I'm having quite a time to spare these days.

I watched the first box in like 3 days. But this will be a fun little log for you when all the boxes come out here. Lets see how long it will take you to watch the whole series.

Took me about 5 days to watch the Dragon Box. I had it on in the background as I was preparing my materials for studying for finals last semester, so it came out at just the right time.

Just out of curiosity, SHINOBI-03, in your quest to watch all of the DBZ episodes, what happens when you run out of Dragon Box sets? Orange bricks?

I haven't even finished the first box yet, the last episode I watched was the gorgeously animated one that ends with Vegeta turning into an Oozaru.

I'm "kind-of" doing the same thing, watching all the Funi DBZ Dragonbox sets. Finished the first one yesterday. Hiatus time, I guess. :|
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

I've only watched 3 episodes of my Dragon Box. I'm finishing the orange bricks first (20 episodes left of season 9). Then I have Dragon Ball seasons 1 and 2 to finish. Might be a while before I finish the Dragon Box.

The only Orange sets I have is 1 and 4... but why would I waste my enjoyment on the crappier version?

When I finish a DBox set, it'll be in hiatus till I get the next one.

Wow... you watch a lot of episodes in one day. I know it's a little sad, but I have had the Dragon Box since it was released and am only up to episode 18. I tried to watch one episode a day, but that didn't work. Now I'm going to be sure to watch at least one episode a day so I can watch the next set.
An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

Haha, good thinking!

Hey, anyone else find the last episode of Dragonbox 1 to be an awkward place to end the set?

Day #004:

Date: Monday, January 25th, 2010

Episodes: 036 - 042

Number of Episodes: 07

Most enjoyed episodes of the day:
  • - 037: Mysterious Yunzabit! The Search for Kami-sama's Spaceship
    - 039: Friends or Foes? Children of the Mysterious Giant Spaceship
    - 040: Honest to Goodness? - There Lies Namek, Planet of Hope
    - 041: Kind-hearted Aliens - There's the Wu Xing Qui Ball Already
    - 042: Planet Freeza No. 79 - Vegeta Recoveres!!
And finally, I'm done with the first Dragon Box set. Now, I'm waiting for the next one. As of this moment, everything else is new to me.

Also, isn't it strange that I liked the filler episodes that everyone else hate?! Maybe because I know the manga so well, it's interesting seeing something new to me.

I'm waiting to find out the secret of Zarkuro and Lychee, although the preview spoiled it a bit for me.

My DragonBox just came in the mail this morning [YAAAY] but did anyone get the 'upcoming releases' flyer in theres that says the Tree of Might and Lord Slug were coming out today?

Was this in the line of those concelled movie singles?

And was there anymore news on the double season sets coming out in a few weeks? Or was that 2 sets bundled together to get rid of inventory?

EDIT:: Is that "The DragonBox is here'' thing going to be on the side of all 7 dragonboxes? or just this one since its the first? It was veeeery crappily attatched and wondering if i should lightly glue it back on or not.

I hope they fix it in the next releases because it's really terrible!

Maybe they had already printed the coming attractions before they cancelled the singles.

I ask about the leaflet because it's covering up a side of the picture that I THOUGHT was the same thing, but it's a different photo and if it's just this ONE time, I'll just take it off. I want to be consistent with them, however, so I guess I'll wait for DBox 2 to come out.

EDIT: Sorry for all those mistakes, I'm typing on a new laptop and getting used to it and I was rushing.
