Best Dragonball Z Artwork / Reference book recommendation

Post by zentradi » Sun Jan 24, 2010 4:56 am

Hello

Guys Can anyone help me find the BEST DBZ ART book? Meaning sort of like a reference book or DBZ encyclopedia like possibly in full color, HIGHLY illustrative or Black and white if it has stunning artwork? I would love it if it is in English but Japanese is ok (I guess most will be in japanese anyways).

You know if there is like one of those big stunning hardcover, glossy art paper type books is out there it would be incredible!

Finally what is the best way to read DBZ english manga? Will the Viz 1-26 vol box set be good enough? For this one I would prefer if they are in somewhat smaller size so I can carry them with me.

Any links for either of these two requests would be very helpful.

Please help

Thanks
Z

The Daizenshuu are what your looking for:

Availible on sites like Ebay and the first one has been translated into English.

The Viz 1-26 box set is the smallest size you can get them, but also the most expensive. The Vizbigs are bigger but also cheaper.

I will get v 1-26 but is it FULL? I mean doesn't the japanese manga have a lot more volumes like 48?

Volumes 1-16 are Dragon Ball. Volumes 17 - 42 are DBZ. Viz releases them separately though. Dragon Ball is 1 - 16 volumes, and DBZ has its own 1 - 26.

You could probably find a better deal somewhere else, but these are the products.

Box set of the single volume release
Dragon Ball : http://amazon.com/dp/142152614X/
Dragon Ball Z: http://amazon.com/dp/1421526158/

VizBig (DBZ Not yet complete): http://amazon.com/dp/1421525666/

Daizenshuu 1 Translated Artbook: http://amazon.com/dp/1421525666/

No plans to translate the rest of the Daizenshuu have been announced and Son Goku Densetsu (the book you linked to) is only in japanese and has not been translated into english.

That is only the "Z" part of the series.

No movie graphic novels have been translated into english and most likely won't be in the future.

If it's not the manga or the first Daizenshuu, then it's probably not released in English. ;)
