Budokai 4 (Thoughts on Theoretical Release)
For the past 3 years the Budokai games where always announced in the summer with a release date of some time in November. Anyone think it would be possible for a 4th year?
Most people would believe that is inevitable that a Budokai 4 would be realeased. This time something based off of DragonBall GT (obviously). The hype of the series is about to die down out here in America, so it is only right for a game related to GT to be released.
Same applies to the (possible) DragonBall: Sagas franchise. Sagas games based on the Buu saga and GT are bound to be made as well.

I'd rather see a 'Budokai Complete' game... covering DB/Z/GT. I still want to kick butt as Roshi or Tao damnit!

I remember in an interview it was said Budokai 3 would likely be the last one for the PS2. Because of that, many believe there might be another Budokai that instead comes out on the PS3. Think that could be a good thing?
I just hope if they do, they improve even more things, and add the rest of the DBZ characters people have been wanting. I heard the director of the series, in a interview in Famatsu, said they don't have any intentions to make a Z/GT crossover/mix game for various reasons. So, if it's still DBZ Budokai, we may not end up with anymore GT content(Or, if lucky, maybe they'll remove what's already there and there'll be none at all, just Z!
), just the rest of the Z things that are missing.

To be more precise, the game creator stated that Budokai 3 would be the last DragonBall Z game in the Budokai franchise, which has lead to speculation that there may be some kind of GT Budokai game being considered.
Unfortunately, if this DOES happen, it won't be a case of "Budokai 3 + GT stuff", because Dimps already went on the record to say that they don't have any intentions of mixing the two series. (I guess SSJ4 and Ii Xing Long in Budokai 3 was an exception?)
On that note though, I can't see a stand-alone GT game doing very well. All the characters beside Goku and Vegeta have become weak and generic, and I wasn't too crazy about the majority of the villians either.

I'm thinking it'll most likely be a DB game. And truthfully, if they decided to go back to 'manga cannon specific' that would still include 'Z'. And I think they mixed it up in B3 mainly because, well, they'd used up everything else already. B3 seemed to be a "Look what you'll be getting later" kind of thing.
I just hope that the next game merges Dragon Universe with Story Mode. You know, you still fly around the overworld going from place to place but when you land, instead of getting the cut-outs talking you get a real cutscene.

I'd love to see them make a whole new take on a storyline like an alternate version of DBZ like if Goku actually never became good it would be totally crazy. They could make new cutscenes which look like they were taken from the anime.

Making anime cutscenes [although unlikely] would be every fan's dream! And alternate story lines would keep the game interesting...Piro-kun wrote:I'd love to see them make a whole new take on a storyline like an alternate version of DBZ like if Goku actually never became good it would be totally crazy. They could make new cutscenes which look like they were taken from the anime.
Perhaps if they made a game where depending on surtain factors the story would turn out differently would really rock. That, along with alternate storylines [like in Super Sonic Warriors] would make for a perfect game.
As for a GT Budokai, It'd be great to see it! They have a large enough roster of characters to make it interesting, and plenty of transformations also. Although I'd love to see a plain DB Budokai before a GT one, the fans need Tao Pai Pai!!

Yes... that would be sweet. Also, I think the next game needs all 3 tournament rings, (Budokai, Cell Games, Otherworld) and they need to be destructable. (And all levels need 2 'levels' of damage) Like, the Budokai ring on destruction level one would look like when Majin Vegeta balsted it, and on level two it'd look totatly wiped out like in DB. Other levels could easily be made that way too. And they need an option to turn off Ring Outs in vs mode.
Also, the next game's alternate mode should be sort of like an arcade/tournament mode mixed sort of thing. Where you can pick from any of the charas and fight in some sort of touranment. And everyone would have a certain character or two they'd always fight at the end, while the rest would be random. (I know I've listed this idea somewhere before but it's been so long I forget where.)
Anyway, as an example... If you played as Videl your last Match would be against Hercule And there would be some sort of special cutscene first. Not just an intro, an actual cutscene/story thing.
Anyway, back to the original idea of alternate story lines. I think it'd be great. Something like what SSW did. A specific special story for every individual character.

For an example; wouldn't it be phat if almost every character had a transformation.
No for real though. Why can't the Super Saiyan become the "Golden Warrior" or have some transformations that didn't happen. Yea it's a bit wak, but dammit I want to be Super Saiyan Nappa. Bardock and Raditz too. Then have the Saibamen turn into those giant beasts from Sagas.
Uh huh, it's a bit of a stretch but they could be y'know...special capsules.
Werd.

Heh, nice to know someone likes my ideas. ^^ And ya, I think they need 'what-if' skills and transformations to go with the new games. SSJ1-4 for Bardock, Gohan, Vegeta(SSJ3), Raditz, Brolly, and Nappa. (And I mean for ALL versions of Gohan. SSJ3 Kid Gohan'd be cool....)
At the very least though, they need to balance some of it out more. Krillin and Gohan have 'unlock potential', Hercule's got 'hyper tension', and Dabura's got 'Demonic Will', but Tien, Yamcha, Videl, Shin, and lot's of others have nothing. At least those four should get some transformation.

No offense, but that is a stupid idea. Transformations are part of what separates the characters. If you're gonna make all the Saiyans go SSj1-4, why not give everybody the Spirit Bomb and the Kamehameha?Xyex wrote:Heh, nice to know someone likes my ideas. ^^ And ya, I think they need 'what-if' skills and transformations to go with the new games. Heck, why not just go ahead and follow DBGT: Final Bout's example and have 38 different forms of Goku?
I'm not totally against what-if transformations, for example, I really don't have a problem with Bardock, Raditz, and Nappa getting a Super Saiyan capsule. But if every one of the Saiyans can go SSj4 (defying one of the rules of the series, btw), then why have different characters at all?

Well they could have a Chibi Gohan SS3 or a Super Saiyan Videl if the story line was something like....(Insert new bad guy here) had so much power, but was just a kid and didnt know how to controll it... one day while training in space he almost blew up the universe...when he return to the Earth he seen some wired things... long story short he realized his energy made the universe very unstable making time lines and races mix into one universe....
What? That barley makes sence...hopefully you know what I mean...
