Damn, the art is going to be shitty in this and next episodes......... That's the part I love in manga but don't like in Z, because they totally screwed up the art.

I'm personally a fan of recurring music. I enjoy hearing Tracks that I know and love being played. For me it makes a scene all the better. But I know I'm the minority in that case, lol.penguintruth wrote:Because the burial part had the same track we hear every episode, whereas the Z version had that great track from movie 3.

Nice episode. It covered a very important classic plot point well but I was hoping for some fighting. Oh well. That just means the next episode will be full of fighting and challenge... and challenge and fighting... and stuff!

"Stuff" - Golden hair; Freeza's lack of time sensibility!! supplements kick into full gear; 100%?! A green ball pops! Canon-issues; A clove of Garlic!!! Months pass; Vegeta's Bastard Child! Alien Julienne! Robots!! A giant green bug! Head is stepped on; golden hair with sparks! Pink stuff! Long Golden hair!!!! Someone named Vegetto!! "Ee-arth" vanishes, and then returns; an 80s' pornstar saves the world! An Indian minority takes the lead?! - - "NO" says GT.

DBKAI Episode 43 obviously should be a mesh of DBZ episodes 87 - 89. Episode 87 provides for some very good animation, so atleast a quarter to half of the next episode should be aesthetically pleasing, granted they'll stop tampering with random scenes.MCDaveG wrote:Damn, the art is going to be shitty in this and next episodes......... Is Dragonball Kai a kid's show? And are the DVDs/Blu-ray Discs of the series uncensored? Because there are other instances of censorship, such as some swearing, nudity, and other instances of blood being removed.

...Yes... Why wouldn't it be? The entire series is aimed at children.Ultimate DBZ wrote:Is Dragonball Kai a kid's show?

This is very annoying. I thought they weren't going to censor Kai to this extent after the complaints. It looks terrible.

Dragon Ball Z is a kids show. And the only Nudity removed so far is some little boy penis. If you REALLY need that to enjoy DB then...Ultimate DBZ wrote:Is Dragonball Kai a kid's show? Also, I don't know where you got this Idea that Swearing has been removed. Maybe the fansubs you saw decided to clean up the dialog in the translation, but there's just as much "Swearing" as there was in DBZ. Characters still say "Kuso" and "Chikusho" and "Kisama" and "Yarou" and all the other rude terms where swearing is used to get the rudeness across.
And The instances in which the blood has been removed are few and far between. So far, we've gotten the Raditz scene and a few things involving Vegeta here in Namek. Meanwhile, Kuririn still gets stabbed by Freeza's horn and still bleeds plenty.
Curious, we know the Raditz scene was actually closer to Kai in the Manga, howabout this Vegeta stuff? During these scenes, did Vegeta bleed that much in the Manga?

So Vegeta is actually suppose to spit up white blood?DemonRin wrote:Curious, we know the Raditz scene was actually closer to Kai in the Manga, howabout this Vegeta stuff? I'm ASKING, and it's not "White blood", it's clearly supposed to be saliva in Kai. Don't act like a liquid coming out of his mouth HAS To be blood.

Re: Kai Episode 42 (31 January 2010)
I know your asking! Calm down! There is a problem with that. He already has blood coming out of his mouth. So how could he just spit plain unred salvia out of his mouth. So yeah, and also in Z it's blood. So yeah I have a good reason to act why it should be blood. I can't believe you can buy that and go along with it's just saliva just to rationalize why it's not a bad censorship then it seems. When it really is.DemonRin wrote:I'm ASKING, and it's not "White blood", it's clearly supposed to be saliva in Kai. Don't act like a liquid coming out of his mouth HAS To be blood.

I am just asking what that scene looks like in the manga because I dont have my kanzenban here, they're packed up in a box in the garage, I havent been able to find them or my orange bricks since I moved recently.SSVegetto wrote:I know your asking! The Raditz scene where Piccolo blew the hole in Raditz and Son had very little blood in the Manga, DBZ added a few buckets that weren't there before.
I'm asking if this was another situation where the manga wasn't that bloody, and DBZ made it that bloody.

To answer your question about Vegeta, he's not bleeding much in the manga, there's little blood around his mouth and he coughs blood twice. Despite the fact that the "blood coughing" was removed to Kai, the Kai version seems much more violent than the original manga somehow: this may be due to the colors which makes blood and wounds really apparent all over him, or the fact that you can hear his voice where you can tell how much he's suffering and using his last strengths. There's as much blood around his mouth in Kai as in the manga, if not more, and overall wounds are more apparent.DemonRin wrote:I am just asking what that scene looks like in the manga because I dont have my kanzenban here, they're packed up in a box in the garage, I havent been able to find them or my orange bricks since I moved recently.SSVegetto wrote:I know your asking! So aside from the blood coughing, the scene is equal or actually slightly more violent than in the manga. The fact that blood coughing is missing is not shocking in anyway though, it's usual in the Dragon Ball anime to see people having saliva come out and seems natural, and as I said, besides its absence, I felt Vegeta was in pretty bad shape in Kai compared to the manga. It's the first time I see this moment in anime version, and I've read the manga over and over again, and I was surprised when I saw the scene gave to me a much more violent impression, so you've got here an initial "uncorrupted" vision of things!

So it's all a matter of perception in the end, the thing to retain is:
- less violent than in Dragon Ball Z.
- more violent than the manga (despite no blood coughing), conveying a much more "dying" feeling all the way!
That's what I think anyway, but as you've already seen, it's pretty opposite to most other thoughts around, so take that into consideration (if one guy says "it's good" while a group of a hundred guys say "it's bad", there's kind of a bit more chance that the latter is right

So basically we can all now insert our own BGM
