Favourite/best what-if game storyline

Post by Piccolo Daimao » Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:21 pm

Which what-if video game storyline was your favourite or the best, in your opinion? Your favourite doesn't necessarily have to be the best.

Yes it does. My opinion is the best. Anyone who says different is stupid and deserves to die.

The best what-if game storyline is absolutely the greatness that is Shin Budokai 2's story.

I really liked the Arale vs. Goku and 16 vs. 8 stories from... wasn't it Sparking Meteor.

I thought Akuman fighting Freeza in Sparking! Metor was awesome. It would never happen, but was pretty funny.

I'm going to have to go with one of these:

Raditz becoming a Z-Fighter (Sparking! NEO)
16 vs 8 (Sparking! METEOR)
Gogeta vs Gotenks (Budokai 3)
Goku vs Broly instead of Buu (Budokai 3)

I'll just say that BT3's 'What-if' saga had so much potential, and it didn't live up to it in the slightest.

How about less DB characters and more Future Gohan meets Mystic Gohan? Or something with Goku and Bardock? :x

Anyway, Raditz becoming a good guy in BT2 was awesome...Roshi fighting Broly in BT3 was cool, as well.

Isn't a "Goku & Bardock what-if" a bit...clished?

I think you mean "cliched" and yeah from memory, the Goku meets Bardock what-if did appear in Shin Budokai 2, Supersonic Warriors 2 and Burst Limit.

Yeah. I actually want what-if storylines that are unexpected and take me off-guard, rather than utterly predictable ones like "Future Trunks vs. Kid Trunks". Some what-if storylines were actually inventive and unique, while others were just...*yawn*.

Wait...Piccolo Daimao and Piccolo Daimaoh aren't the same person? I'm an idiot...

But I do see what you mean in that those what-ifs would be pretty expected.

Gee... I dunno.

I loved the concept of Shin Budokai 2, but the execution was pretty terrible.

I kind of liked Budokai 1's Vegeta beating Goku story. It added somewhat logical reasoning behind his killing Nappa. I also liked how confused Vegeta looked when he turned into a Super Saiyan, despite how much sense it didn't make.

Budokai 1's Cell + Krillin fusion was hilarious. Loved that.

Even though Yamcha cheated on Bulma, or at least I think judging from Viz's Trunks line "Yamcha wasn't always faithful..." I still enjoyed his victory over Vegeta and subsequently victory over the whole Tenkaichi Budokai in Budokai 3. Yamcha just never got the honor or dignity I always thought he deserved and this what-if satisfied that feeling.

I dunno, there's so many to choose from. I guess I'd go with Yamcha's Budokai 3 story.

No, we're different. I just use a different romanization of the japanese name that ends with "h".
