Uhhh, he looks like a slug, but "alien" would be a more accurate descriptionMike D wrote:Okay. So does that apply to people that aren't humans? Because when you think about it; God is a slug, the king is a wolf, and "The World Fighting Tournaments" are contested with dinosaurs, werewolves, midget clowns, etc.WhatTheDarn wrote:My sister showed this to me. She said it was completely random and wasn't in a section about anime. The X stands for xenophobia because "humans develop a fear of aliens after they land on Earth." No they don't. Other than that, it's surprisingly accurate.
Not to mention that they are often seen in everyday society living amongst people...
Xenophobia needs to be shot.

Thanks for the back-up.askani son wrote:Umm...Super Sonic wrote:The closest thing to xenaphobia I've seen in DB/DBZ wasn't even in DB/DBZ, but in an ish of Jump. In one chapter of Shaman King, a guy calls two Native American shamans "foreign devils".
Makes sense?Jerseymilk wrote:Because Vegeta is one. He hates and wants nothing to do with all other races accept Saiyajins. Of course that changes later on.
And WhatTheDarn I'm afraid you're incorrect, as I said above, the topic of xenophobia in DB is derived from Vegeta's extreme prejudice of anyone who's not a Saiyajin. Not from people's fear of aliens coming to Earth. The only aliens that came to Earth the people were actually aware of were Vegeta and Nappa. They never knew of Freeza and his father, #17 and #18 were from Earth, Cell was from Earth. Majin Buu was the only other one and he wasn't exactly an alien that landed on Earth as had been locked away for years. The people never knew he and Babidi were aliens.
The only other aspect of the series that could realistically relate to xenophobia would be Freeza's irrational fear and loathing of Saiyajins.

To go with my statement above, they look like, speak like, act like, and can even perform the horizontal mambo with humans. They're not freaking 3 ft. tall wolfmen. I mean really. What the hell was Toriyama smoking? Out of all the jacked up shit in DragonBall Z, that is the only thing that kicks me where it hurts. I feel more comfortable with 3 transvestite crocodile-spiked-grapefruit-lizards harassing slugs on a planet where the grass is blue, the sky is green, the blood is purple, the urine is mauve, the trees have blue afros, and the poop is transparent only to receive gigantic balls of joy that summon a half-ass pissed-off God of love that speaks English but only takes wishes in butchered hooker slang; rather than having a blue dog as the king mind you, king of the planet Earth.Jerseymilk wrote:The only aliens that came to Earth the people were actually aware of were Vegeta and Nappa.
Honestly. Who in their right mind would bow down to Spud McKenzie with a mustache?

My apologies WhatTheDarn I thought you were saying that. I didn't realize it was directly from the magazine.WhatTheDarn wrote:I agree. What I'm saying is that the magazine itself says that x stands for xenophobia because of the fears humans develop after aliens land. Of course it doesn't make sense, but I didn't write it.

I plead insanity.

He was probably thinking "How can I make Goku into an alien when, apart from his tail, looks exactly like a normal human being? I know! Make his entire race humans with tails!"Mike D wrote:To go with my statement above, they look like, speak like, act like, and can even perform the horizontal mambo with humans.
