B and Rocketman, you guys are reaching again. If Goku could go SSJ at will, he would not have wasted time trying to win a fight with Kaio-ken. Goku's smart when it comes to fighting, he knows when he needs to up his power and he doesn't waste time. He would just transform. Don't give me that "he didn't have time" theory, I've watched that movie and that fight a dozen times. There were moments during that fight for him to transform. And if you look at movie 6, there is a difference in the way that he reacts there. As soon as Goku sees he's having trouble, he transforms in a snap. In movie 5, the transformation is awkward, like it's not at will.
And even if they used the dragonballs in movie 13 already, that movie still can't take place. It's an interesting theory about how the present day Trunks got his sword, but there's no way that Mirai Trunks got his sword from the Hildegarn incident. Basically because no one powerful enough would have been around to defeat Hildegarn. Mirai Gohan certainly couldn't do it on his own, nor #17 and #18. Trunks would have been too young and weak. Hildegarn was an enemy that required Goku to be in SSJ3 mode to destroy for goodness sakes!
It would be nice if these movies fit guys but they don't. And what's the big deal about that? They were made for movie festivals along with other anime movies to entertain kids around the country. They are like alternate DBZ stories. Just accept it and stop reading so much into them.

That has me confused.... what are talking about exactly?Dayspring wrote:Back to why movie 9 can't take place: The Trunks that's in that movie is the same age as when he last exited the room of spirit and time. He is stated by Bulma in the movie to be a Trunks that just destroyed the androids in the future. However, here's what the NARRATOR tells us about Future Trunks:
"3 years have passed. Bulma has recharged the time machine so that Trunks can go back in time and give the news concerning his victory over the androids to his friends in the past. On the day of his departure..." (Insert Future Trunks vs Future Cell)
In other words, Trunks hasn't gone back in time yet! How can he possibly be the same Trunks if he's 3 years younger in movie 9?

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

When Buruma and Chi-Chi are having that argument about which of their children will win the tournament, Buruma states that it will be her son because he just defeated to androids in his time. That means it just recently happened, so Trunks couldn't have waited a few months or stayed in the present time for a few months with the Briefs.

When Trunks returns to the future and destroys his time's androids, the narrator says he waited 3 years before going back to tell everybody. He's in his mid twenties by that time and you can clearly see he is significantly older than the Trunks in movie 9. The Trunks in movie 9 is the same age as the Trunks in the Cell Games. Therefore movie 9 can't take place because Trunks in movie 9 doesn't wait three years before returning to the past.Xyex wrote:That has me confused.... what are talking about exactly?Dayspring wrote:Back to why movie 9 can't take place: The Trunks that's in that movie is the same age as when he last exited the room of spirit and time. Another new question:
Do we get to hear "I'm glad its sunday and nobody its home" from Nappa after he has just obliterated a whole city? considering he and Vegeta blow up planets as part of their jobs... What I'm trying to say is that kind of dialogue doesnt fit, especially for a character like Nappa. Why the hell should he care if there were people or not, since its his job to mass destroy cities. I know the actual japanese dialogue was changed so the kids who would watch the series wouldnt get worried and sad about the people living in the city. But since we are going to be shown non-edited footage and all that, are those shitty dialogues also changed to fit better?

I seriously think they will just rewrite the dialogue so it will be consistent with the current dub. If a city is blown up, then it gets blown up, no dialogue describing what happened to its inhabitants one way or the other. Otherwise, it wouldn't be very 'uncut'.Fushar wrote:Another new question:
