Odd Question: Voice Extraction

Post by Sun_Wukong » Mon Jan 31, 2005 4:27 pm

I may not be able to explain this too well so bare with me. I'm doing a movie trailer of each saga of DBZ. I want to have various phrases said throughout it, as common in trailers. I was wondering if there's anyway to remove music from an episode so I can just have the spoken audio? Does this make sense at all?

It makes sence yes, but I don't think it's possible to get just the voices from ther DVD's since it blends together with the music in one Audiotrack. What you could try is:

a)If your DVD player has a soundmode where the voices are played loud and the music somewhat softer, you could truy to record that.

b)Rip voices from the ps2 games.

Unless there's actual separated sound channels (such as a 5.1 surround track with voices on one track, sound effects on another, music on another, etc.), you're pretty much shit outta luck. There are audio filters that will attempt to do things with a regular center audio channel to try and remove music or voices, but if the original source is plopped together, you're just not going to get results you're looking for.
