I wasn't really expecting him to be recast, I was just wishing it really hard. Give me a few moments to put myself together and face reality. :p

I wonder who'll be Nappa.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I never thought any of Funi's voices didn't suit the characters. Well... for the most part, strange obsession with odd accents not withstanding. In some cases, such as fat Boo, I thought Funi's voices were better.

Fat Buu would be okay if they wrote him to speak in complete sentences.

What's with you guys and the Funi cast, anyway? Sure, they're not the greatest dub voices in mankind's history, but they're still some of the best dub voices we've gotten, at least in my opinion.

No need to get so anal about this guys. Calm down...

*Smug smile for all of Sabat's characters still being Sabat*

We have had these voice actors for over a decame, why would they randomly switch up what sells?
Id rather have seasoned voices than new people coming in trying to either mimic or take the characters a whole different dirctions.

Good call Funi.

Yes, because they totally aren't doing any recasts and Sabat only voiced Piccolo and Vegeta.

I'm gonna assume you don't watch that much anime, dubbed or otherwise.

And, LeprikanGT, way to represent dubbies!

Linda Young is still Freeza? I can see a lot of people upset at this, but I have faith in her performance. This dub looks like it's going to turn out nicely! Also, I love how they ignore Yamcha's presence! Poor guy, he never gets any love.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Anything will sell. DBZ will sell regardless. Dub fans will buy anything.

They should have gone out of their way to find voices that fit the characters, and not the dubbie's impression of the characters based on their godawful existing dub.

Saying "doing what sells" is worthless. The DBZ dub isn't so beloved that tons of fans will not buy it because of cast changes. It's not the Cowboy Bebop dub.

I'm seeing dub fans left and right saying that they have lost interest in Kai and won't watch it just due to Gohan's actress being changed...

No kidding a lot of people on the Funi forums are really bummed out. That's a shame because I would have liked for them to enjoy the new script.

Lies. Plenty of them will get it. They said they wouldn't get the Dragon Boxes, too.

I don't see why dub fans are so bummed out with the few changes. It's quite obvious that FUNimation is going for the same sound, regardless of voice actor. I mean, Sabat even said that the new Bulma sounds "JUST" like the old one, "only better!" Also, I'm sure the new Gohan will be better, but not drastically different.

As disappointing as this may be to me, it shouldn't upset fans of the current dub. I'm confused.

I personally think a lot of the voices in the Dub are quite fitting, but then there's the voices that don't necessaraly sound like the original version, but they have there own certain charm.

For me, it's more script/dub terms changing that needs to happen.

Otherwise, not that bad.

The question that's on my mind is will they be sticking with original terminology? Is the Room of Spirit and TIme going to be The Hyperbolic TIme Chamber? Will Kienzan be the Destructo Disk? I hope not but since they are referring to Tenshinhan as Tien...
