2 questions about Project Doomrider
I was watching Doomrider and I noticed that when they show the shot of Kuririn throwing his Kienzan at Freeza was from the FUNi single. I still checked Tanooki Kuriboh's post to be sure. Why was the FUNi single used? My second question is when Mr.EX stated that the Cell Games DVD's and second Dragon Box was not out yet. So he says they had to use the VHS tapes but I don't know what he meant since I'm pretty sure he just said VHS so did they use the American TV Broadcast footage recorded from TV or did they use the Uncut VHS tapes FUNi was releasing at the time.

Re: 2 questions about Project Doomrider
We used what was available at the time that each individual track was being made. Remember that the project was started in 2003. Even the Japanese Dragon Boxes were only just coming out that year, never mind any R2 singles which wouldn't come for another two years. FUNimation hadn't even completed their single DVD releases (missing some Cell Game footage, etc.). There was no "Ultimate Uncut Edition".
You'll notice that the Great Saiyaman stuff is VHS (FUNimation, uncut) since it was one of the first tracks completed in 2003, and there was no DVD footage available of it in either the US or Japan (the second Dragon Box came out much later in the year).
No, we did not use VHS on the Cell Game track -- we used Dragon Box footage, since it was actually available by the time that track made its way to us in 2005 after being shifted from editor to editor and never getting completed.
I guess I don't understand the question, if you actually understand what it is that you're asking (unless the Cell Game footage was the main question).

I meant in the podcast you said something about using VHS footage and I believe you said it was for the Cell Games since the Dragon Box was not available at the time.So my second question was asking if you used VHS footage for the Cell Games but you cleared that up.VegettoEX wrote: I guess I don't understand the question, if you actually understand what it is that you're asking (unless the Cell Game footage was the main question).

I always wondered why the Saiyan arc uses DragonBox DVD footage, yet the Namek arc seems to use Pioneer DVD footage in the video. Dragon Box Z 1 came out March 19, 2003. Shouldn't footage be used from the DragonBox used from the first 147 episodes..?

Re: 2 questions about Project Doomrider
Tracks 1 and 2 were completed much later than Track 3; we didn't have Dragon Box footage for when Castor finished up his track, but since Meri and I took up the first two tracks after editor drop-outs, we were (years later) able to get better footage.RoarkVegeta wrote:I always wondered why the Saiyan arc uses DragonBox DVD footage, yet the Namek arc seems to use Pioneer DVD footage in the video. Now-a-days, this wouldn't be an issue

Do I smell a Doomrider: Redux?
I'm sure schedules are much too busy for that nowadays, anyway.

Lots of ideas tossed around over the years. Something almost happened. It didn't. Still thoughts. We'll see.
