01- Outdated.
02- Japanese voices are silly.
03- Boring music.
04- Bunch of guys keep staring at each other for episodes.
05- Bunch of guys keep screaming like they want to take a mountain full of shit for episodes.
06- Superficial and not so deep plot.
07- Five minutes takes a 100 episodes.
08- The sky is green instead of blue.
09- Stupid inappropriate name puns.
10- Gets tons of never ending re-releases.
11- It's called "Dragon ball", but there's no mention of "Dragon Balls" in the plot.
13- Crappy animation.
14- No CGI effects.

............................................ Or so I heard from whiners and assholes.
Which is why we love it so much.
Actions have reactions so don't be quick to judge, you may not know the hardships that people don't speak of.

To me there is just nothing like Dragon Ball. Whenever I watch it I don't feel like I'm watching "just another anime", it's as though it is it's own entity separate from all the rest. It follows the same characters almost through an entire lifetime and when I first discovered it as a kid that was something that really stood out for me, because most (American, anyway) cartoons just resolve themselves within 30 minute episodes and there is no real time-line.

From memory, the only thing that actually got resolved in an episode was Goku and Piccolo's driving test.

The characters. I could forgo everything else in the series if I just had my boys and their fuckups and their moments of genius and I'd be perfectly happy- I spent years away from canon and still had equal passion for the series because the fandom I found myself in was all about our boys. I love their trials and tribulations, their personal tics and interactions, the way they change or stubbornly remain the same. They're what draw me back time after time for the past 11 years.
