No Valencian in the DVD releases. Don't know why but many people were pissed off about it. I would be too...
Re: Spanish "Dragon Box Z 7" quick review
Isn't Valencian the same thing as Catalán? I thought it was...

It's very similar but it did receive a separate dub.

There are bootlegs floating around on Amazon, and I'm sure a shit ton of bootlegs actually in Mexico. But no, not yet.email2003 wrote:Dumb question but did the Mexican version of DBZ ever got release in Mexico?

Re: Spanish "Dragon Box Z 7" quick review
It got a release; someone linked to it at one point. However, it's Spanish-only and crams 10 episodes per disc. Maybe it was bootleg, I don't remember for sure.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Well, the bootlegs on Amazon cram like, 30+ episodes per disc. I'm pretty sure nothing is official except for whatever was put out by Funimation.
It might have had an ancient vhs release, but I don't know for sure.

I remember someone linking to a Mexican website... I just don't remember the website, let alone what thread to look in. :/

You're not alone in remembering that. These were dub only with not so good video, if I remember correctly.bkev wrote:I remember someone linking to a Mexican website... I just don't remember the website, let alone what thread to look in. :/

Found it.
http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopi ... =7&t=11458
So 1-52 were released on DVD, by some random company, but with Toei's stamp of approval? I... don't get it.
Does Mexico have something like public domain/distribution? Because they're like, official but not. Not, meaning, I thought Funimation had rights to the series for all of North America.
I'm like mind-fucked right now.
I don't see how it works. Help!

Re: Spanish "Dragon Box Z 7" quick review
Ok let me answer this one please?, in Mexico, there are 2 "Official Releases",email2003 wrote:Dumb question but did the Mexican version of DBZ ever got release in Mexico?
The 1st one being "Ports" of The Seasons Sets, but on individual Discs, and only a couple were released, they featured similar artwork than the Ultimate Uncut Releases, and they were Released by Funimation and Paramount, they have the Latin American Dub, plus the English Dub (don't now if Dub + Jp Music or TV Broadcast Dub) and the Japanese Audio, but then of course they were the Faux Remastered Version.
This one was very Short Lived, and was on Par with the Spanish Releases tha Funi Released on Par with the Oragne Bricks, Damn!
The 2nd is the one that looks more like a bootleg being released, that has many episodes and are released in volumes, but the image quality is subpar, and the masters are the same craptastic poor masters used by many stations (most notable Televisa) to air the show, and i wont be surprised if they are the already censored masters that Televisa Holds.
This Release is more like a Bootleg Release, since here in Mexico there are many old Anime's Being released on DVD sets, but with incredible poor quality, that basically are taken from tapes, examples like, Minky Momo, Mazinger Z, Remi, etc, and despite their lackluster quality that is on par with pirate releases, those are being sold on official stores like Blockbuster.......
Its Really not surpise with the Level of Piracy We Had here, but on top on that, many official R4 Releases of many other movies, are a total joke compared to their R1/Japanese R2
counterparts, Trust me on this one.
