I'm always fascinated by dub fans ("hardcore" fans, no less) who very clearly state that they
don't want the show to be faithful to its original incarnation. This is the same complacent attitude that I speak about often and led to things like acceptance of the orange bricks. I suppose that's mostly another discussion, though.
I don't think anyone honestly wants Goku running around speaking in English like a redneck. That's not entirely accurate to the original performance, anyway. If you go back and
listen to what Daimao said to us about translating the dialogue, I think he nailed it perfectly when talking about representing aspects of it in English in each line. For example, instead of having Superhero-Goku say, "I have to do this!"... a simple change to "I gotta do this!" works wonders. It was similar to how (apparently?) Rock Lee speaks without contractions in the dub of
Naruto. (Future) Trunks should have been the same way in an English dub of DBZ.
There are ways to represent this. It just takes a talented translator and a talented actor given talented direction.
Unless you don't want any of that, of course. I suppose you can just watch the dub as-is for that.
