Dragon Ball Online OST

Post by Big Momma » Tue Feb 23, 2010 10:35 pm

I dunno whether to put this in the Video Games section or here, so I suppose the mods can just move this if it's in the wrong place.

I was on Youtube and came across these:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x_CHLcKNdk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxNsCSGC8t4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clcO3nNLYyA

They were uploaded by our very own Bura!

It says that they are tracks from the DB Online soundtrack. Have these been posted before? Are they legit? Are there more? Where could one purchase this "OST"?

I figure it's been recorded from in-game... it sounds pretty nice to me, actually.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I wonder how Bura found these....

Nonetheless, the songs sound pretty good!

Oh crap, I didn't even realize Bura was the one that put these up!

Haha, no I did not play the game. I actually ripped these from that museum site that popped up a few months back. I noticed that they played the in-game BGM on that site. :)

I know they are from the game because some of the DBO clips people posted also had this music.

I like the third one with the drums the best. :3
Very nice. All three are relaxing. I think it's good background music because it's easy on the ears and not right in your face.

If they do release an OST, I'd buy the CD.
On hiatus.

Yeah, they made the soundtrack more like the Anime rather than the other Video Games.

The second link sounds very Jeremy Soule esque. Feels like I'm listening to Elder Scrolls music, and in no way is that a bad thing.

Hopefully we'll get songs like this in the final version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAANKFPchtA

That actually would go really well...

As incredible as that song (and game) is, I doubt we'd be getting that kind of music, especially for a Dragon Ball game. It doesn't really fit the series well in my opinion.

I dunno, it just seems perfect for a fantasy MMO, IMO.

I don't like it, it sounds too cheap for me. Like music from Pokémon on N64. Yamamoto's OSTs from consoles are on a way different level.

It's hard to really get a feel for what the composer is trying to do.

I guess it's RPG-ish, but it's not especially Dragon Ball-ish.

I love how the OST for this game sounds parts Dragon Quest and parts Zelda. I think the music fits well for a sense of adventure and awe-inspiring locales, as this game seems to have it. I don't particularly think it fits well for a Dragon Ball animated material, but within the realm of an MMO, it's perfect. I love it.
