I thought the cast announcements were only for the first season or so, so theres still hope that it might be re-cast.

I wouldn't get your hopes up though.

Haven't they already said she's coming back? The only chance I see at a new Freeza is Young's passing. And even then, they'd probably cast another elderly woman.

Betty White as Freeza.

Yeah, but isn't Freeza in the first episode of Kai? It's a montage, so I don't remember if he speaks... Oh, wait, what am I saying?! This is a FUNimation dub of Dragon Ball, so of course Freeza will speak in the English version!

Gaff, you lost me. That joke fell very flat; go back to making videos. :P
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Um, hellooooooo, kev! When has FUNimation NOT taken the opportunity to force otherwise silent characters to talk... or add a bunch of dialogue into a silent flashback? I can't remember if Freeza actually spoke in that montage in the original version, but I would bet probably every possession I own that he will be chatting it up in the dub either way. You knooooooow I'm right!

They've already said Linda Young's returning as Freeza on the Funimation blog, back when they announced the returning cast and the changed roles.

Actually, Funimation has added silence to a scene with dialogue, at least on the original dvds. The season sets' dub with Japanese music added dialogue.

There are instances of this,

but for the most part they force a lot of off-screen dialog. ESPECIALLY during flashbacks.

Like Vegeta's first super saiyan transformation flashback.

"Then the meteors started coming down..."

No shit.

Well, there is dialogue in hte flashback, just so you all know. So let's hope that Linda Young can pull off a good Freeza this time around. Think Sabat'll have her do the awesome laugh that Ryūsei Nakao does? I'm sure she could do it well with enough practice.

I would actually like whoever played Eneru in the FUNimation One Piece dub to play Freeza.

Oh my Dende, that's PERFECT! By all accounts, that should be the new Freeza. Linda Young being kept in the role is just all the more disappointing, now.
