Geocaching the Dragonballs in real !!!

Post by Treklin » Sun Mar 14, 2010 9:27 am

My idea is, why there isnt a worldwide contest to find the "dragonballs" which are scattered on the whole earth, in real life
with a gps receiver ???
The one, who find all 7 "dragonballs" 1 wish is granted to him ... or money ?

what do you think ??? is it possible, maybe over geocaching.com ?
who has time and interest to seek the dragonballs and make a world tour to win at the end 1 million $ ???

I just think that isn't practical, and many people won't have the time to go on this type of adventure. If there's a big cash prize at the end, then I think we'll be seeing some events in the series repeated like fighting when you confront someone with another ball.

Instead I think we should just stick to hiding 7 tennis balls around the house and drawing someone a map.

There actually is something like this...!

The problem is that it's a pretty poorly-coded iPhone application called "iDragon Ball Sports". I've attempted to use and review it several times since its release, but it manages to crash itself all the freakin' time. It seems pretty neat, in that you can set a "difficulty" which changes how far the Dragon Balls are distanced from you. I might try to do it around the neighborhood at some point if the thing manages to run for longer than two minutes at a time.

wow ... dont know this.

i hope there will be a more commercialized version and only one original contest to find the dragonballs ...
but we need an initiator or sponsor ... for example one dragonball lies on the himalaya, the other in a forest in japan, the
other in the arctis ... ^^ i know its pretty unrealistic but that is/was only a idea ...

The idea sounds delicious. If someone realizes it, DB fans around the world will go crazy.

Lol. I can't afford to travel around the world to look for these things! I'm not a rich, genius hottie with blue hair and Hoi-poi Capsules!

That could be pretty dangerous too, if there's a big cash prize. Some people might be willing to do anything to get people out of their way to get a Dragonball.

The thought of an actual Red Ribbon situation because of this is both funny and frightening.

That would be SO much fun. Searching for DragonBalls at 4am? Yes, please.

This is something that's better done on a smaller scale, I think. Like... within a mall for a promotion, or something. Hiding the DragonBalls on the shelves in various stores and what-not.

A better version of this program is literally enough to get me to buy an iPhone.

Here is a video of the iPhone app in use. It's a 10 minute video and the setting of the game is on very easy, so the person shooting the video only collects 2 of the 7 balls. I like the fact that if a ball lands in an area that is inaccessible, you can relocate the ball by firing a kamehameha, pushing it somewhere else.

(singing) "I've got a golden ticket..."

I thought about this years ago, but it's admittedly unrealistic. That iPhone app seems cool and I think I'm gonna start participating in Geocaching this year.

I really...really want this now. This looks so cool. Anyone else buy it and have issues?

That's pretty cool, it's a shame lots of people have problems with the application.

I just bought this app yesterday on my mom's iphone. (I don't have an iphone or an itouch, so I had to borrow my mom's) And HOLY FREAKIN DENDE! I feel like I have an actual Dragon Radar! It makes the beeping sound just like in the show. And you can change the radius of what you see just like in the show by pushing the top button. It makes the sound too! I tested it out when I went to pick up a friend, and I picked up 2 Dragonballs on the way. It was on very easy so they were spread around my neighborhood. Very easy seems like it would be very fun on foot, on a sunny day. Now the only problem is that I need to convince my mom to let me use her iphone again for a whole afternoon. I highly recomend this app. My fanboyism was going crazy!
