Dragon Ball Fantasies, anyone?

Post by BobZ » Sun Mar 14, 2010 2:53 pm

I searched for a similar topic, but couldn't find one, so pardon me if I've missed it somewhere.

We already have a topic about DB related dreams, why not have one for when we dream awake too? :)

Ever been bored in class, or at an event you don't really want to be at? Why not kill the time with some imaginative Dragon Ball fantasies. I must say I still tend to do that even to this day and it's a life-saver. Often, when I'm depressed even it helps a lot.

I love imagining alternative universes, stories, battles, etc. I also like having more realistic fantasies where I have Z-Powers so to say and do my bidding. My favourite thing to do is to dream how the world of Dragon Ball clashes with our reality and Chaos erupts. Goku and Freeza fight off and destroy buildings around them, while certain people (both good and evil) from our world find themselves with newly awaken powers as well and use them for different things. And blah-blah, you know.

Many ideas for fanfics have struck me while imagining stuff, one of them which I've started, but never got to finish...

Anyways, let's hear some more from you guys. :)

I keep myself and the real world out of my Dragonball daydreams. In fact, I try not to think up new situations like a what if DBAF or the obligatory Superman vs. Goku matchup. Those tangents are not only irrelevant but they also dilute the message of Dragonball in my opinion. (That message is debatable I'm sure, but I think we can all agree that it isn't about blind fighting or flashy power-ups).

Now some Dragonball fantasies I have are about Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz working to conquer planets for Freeza while butting heads with the Ginyu Force or what happened during the 5 year gap between DB and Z. Not really that fantastic, more like elaborations on pre-existing events.

When I was the dumbest person alive, I would re-enact in my head the Z story with "next generation" characters. the vicious Saiyans, Trunks and Nappa, were coming to Earth, and Gohan had just died. The evil Dende takes his son, Goten, off for survival training.

Puar dies to the Saibaimen.

I'm always giving myself villain status in my day dreams. Being able to absorb my opponents or create a human genocide attack would be great. I would go unopposed MWHAHAHAHAHAHA erm...yeah. I'm not a fan of DBZ dub music but whenever I have a villain day dream it's pretty much always accompanied by Super Boo's theme.

Fantasies? Dude, you know I'm going to take this waaaaay out context here. But to keep myself from getting banned, let me take a moment to clean up what to I'm about to write.

It sounds like you're basically talking about fanfiction ^^ It's tended to work pretty well for me anyway. You take what you do like, you take the things you dream about, and you put them together for the world. Course some of us can't write what we really want ^^; I can't do a decent romance, just the burning shell of what used to be one. Then there's fanart and roleplay and stuff, and it all comes together in the end to the same thing.

Bulma.

Wait, what?

I've made my own fanfic about Freeza in the Daimao arc in my head.

I prefer my fantasies to be in daydream form just so i have complete control over the situations Haha.. Being in the DB world of-course is the number one Fantasy! but a less embarrassing and much simpler one would be owning as many of the DVD releases as possible and then picturing how they would be set up on my shelves. Thats good enough for me. :D

Bleah, I already wore insanity on my forehead without elaborating on all of this... ^_^

The current one involves what I'd do with the results of wishes I'd make to a wish-granting dragon. As well as dealing with the summoning of said wish-granting dragon in the midsts of a college campus. Bwehehehe... XD

Let's see...
Goten and Trunks randomly running around in the woods = fun.
Goten, Trunks and me randomly running around in the woods without a creepy age-gap = fun. Granted I usually don't put myself in an equal power range in said situations, so I guess I'd wind up being left behind and forgotten.

When Gohan was teaching Videl how to fly, I really wanted it to be real, if that counts.

Yeah, this happens way to often to me. It gives me some good inspiration for fan fanficition, though I haven't written anything about what goes on in my head.

Do I still have those images in my head? Yes. Do I act them out? No. I used to act out my DragonBall stories when I was younger though.

This is pretty embarrasing, but when I put some reading into the concept of chi (an interest born of my love of martial arts as well as Dragon Ball) I might have somehow convinced myself for a while that people could really fly and throw fireballs with years of training.
Yeah, I was 10 the time :D

Seriously, if I didn't write this stuff out I'd go insane from it all. What's more, I have dozens more I don't write out because while they're nice little escapes for a few moments they would utterly fail as fiction.

I have a very strong, highly irrational fear of certain types of bugs. After I first got into Dragon Ball, I used to sometimes imagine Gokuu or Vegeta blowing those bugs up, and that would help calm me down and take my mind off of it. I still do that occasionally, but not quite as often as I used to.

I sometimes just wish I could fly on a goddamn cloud everywhere and sometimes imagine it.

But I'm far too evil to sit on Kinto'un.
