New eyecatches (though most of you have seen them already):
I wonder if they'll have one character eyecatches for Gohan vs. Cell and Goku vs. Buu as well...
Anyway, this episode was pretty good. I love how Freeza loses his mind after Goku turns Super Saiyan. It's almost as if he's afraid of him, but doesn't quite show it.
Also, what is up with Gohan's eyes in these shots? I know it's the original Z animation, but good grief...:

Thanks a whole bunch for those eyecatches. Are those in the highest quality possible?

I unfortunately don't have the money to own Photoshop, but I used Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Freeza I had to Auto Correct because it was a little dark. The original images are png, but when I uploaded them on Photobucket, they turned to jpgs. I guess that wouldn't really effect the image quality, though. *shrugs*
So in short, they are the highest quality I could get them to be.

Not only did it sound out of place cause of the quality (sounded WAY more clear than the other SFX and even the voices), but it also sounded more like glass was being smashed instead of rocks breaking.
Yes, that WAS quite weird. I don't remember if in the original episode the effect was similar... I think it was?
Anyways, the episode rocked! It had moments from one of my favourite episodes in the series after all!
Although, I definitely prefer the original. This is still good though.
P.S: Here are the eyecatches in higher resolution for those who want them:

I'm positive that it will stand out even more. Why? From observation alone, it's easy to pick up one vital reoccurring flaw: tracing images with no variation in line thickness, thus eliminating any distinction of "dimension" if you will. From what we've been shown so far, I really don't see
any sense in continuing the effort of reanimating scenes, unless it's in the favor of correcting errors sprinkled throughout the series.

Good Lord, if all of Kai was animated this way I'd get orgasmes with each episode...

I liked the BGM during the "Super Saiyajin, Son Gokû da!" (aka "Ally to good, nightmare to you!" in FUNimation's Z dub) speech.

I might have to check that out for another in-depth comparison. The original Z-version used my favorite "
Dun-dun-dun" piece from DBZ movie 3, and really sealed it as this iconic piece of BGM.

Haha, here is an artist conception of how big Goku's hair would have been if the camera didn't cut off...

Yeah, that's my favorite Z song too, but was just saying that Kai managed to do a good job in here. Not necessarily saying it was better, but it managed to set a similar mood and stuff.

I really wish they could have fixed that. Instead, make way for crappy, flash-like animation of completely random scenes.

I could swear it was the same in all the Z versions I have yet so far seen. It's something that I noticed back when I was 10 years old and remember up until this day.

Yeah, my eyes would go in opposite directions from looking at that too. Mystery solved!

[SNIP needed for Goku's Hair]
Wow, I didn't really think about how big Goku's hair would be in that scene until now. Now
that's a Super Saiyan!

If Goku were to simply nod his head at that point, his hair would crush Freeza, ending the battle instantly.

I like how, when Goku got in Freeza's face and grabbed his hand, they used music that made Goku seem scary rather than super cool. I thought it was appropriate considering Goku could barely control himself by that point and had become a completely different "monster" so to speak.

Live, with programs like TVants and Keyhole.
They're useful for people who want to catch Kai.
Would you say they're better than VLC media player and do you happen to know if they can receive US Nicktoons?
