I don't recall Bulma being in there but the trailer was so fast-paced so she might've been.

I think Schemmel shouting at the end sounded a little different from his usual stuff.

Trailer also said something about this being the "Manga Director's Cut" or something.

I think so. It didn't sound like the previous take on the character. Its higher.

Gah, I suck at voice descriptions.

I'm very much interested in this trailer. Hopefully Funimation will put it up on their site or YouTube soon.

Yeah, something I did notice was Schemmel's last screaming being a bit different. Again, keep asking FUNimation (via Twitter?) to upload the trailer.

Damn it, I came into their Ustream too late. Just them plugging merch and a Black Butler announcement.

Looks like Travis Willingham will voice Cell in Dragon Ball Z Kai according to his official site (click on "Voicework").

I so hope stops imitating Clarke's Cell. I know he was a big fan when he watched the series in college, but it'd be for the best.

That's one of my major problems with the original Season 3 FUNimation dub. Most of the actors were trying to copy the Ocean cast to an extent rather than make the roles their own. Eventually, they've kinda taken the roles and made them their own, and even if I don't like all of them, I can definitely see a huge improvement once they started doing their own versions.

I hope he does the same here with Cell.

No way, he voiced my favorite characters!

Anyway, I hope his Cell is his own. They seem to be selling it as "NEWNEWNEW."

There really aren't too many ways you can do Perfect Cell.

No we didn't. He was a mediocre Cell at best.

Can't hold a candle to Norio Wakamoto. But then, nobody really can.

Yeah, but you're the type who thinks that Saban cuts and Kai cuts are pretty much the same thing. That says a lot about what yous standards.

No offense. You can like whatever you want.

Because those two things are so similar a discussion, amirite?

Also, yeah, they are pretty much the same thing. Still keeping in a bit of blood here and there doesn't make it that much better.

So when is this trailer being uploaded? I'm just dying to see something besides the teaser trailer.

It's another example of how high your standards are for Dragonball. That's how it's relevant.

And I don't see Kai cutting out filler and Saban cutting out whatever it wants to as "the same thing." Maybe the lack of Next Dimension, parachutes, cargo robots, added breathing to dead people, waiting for arms to grow back, dimensional shifts, complete and total lack of blood and impalement, editing separate stories together into a single story, editing of tears, cutting out anything that shows children doing something illegal, HFIL, great scientists, and "join me" Vegeta speeches has something to do with my seeing Kai differently than the Saban-distributed dub of DBZ.

Standards for cutting/censorship are a different standard than voice acting altogether.

But while we're on it, Saban cut out a lot of filler, too! You should be thanking them for cutting out all that stuff, it made the show flow so much better, am I right?

But, put together, it has to do with the entire presentation of the show! For example, I like the way Bulma sounds better in Z than I do Kai, so that drags Kai down a little bit. On the other hand, I like how Kai flows better than I do Z, so that drags Z down some.
But while we're on it, Saban cut out a lot of filler, too! You should be thanking them for cutting out all that stuff, it made the show flow so much better, am I right?
Calling the Saban-ized DBZ dub and Kai the same thing is like calling the Orange Bricks and the Dragonbox the same thing when they're clearly not. You're ignoring obvious differences in the products (many of which I listed in this thread) to prop up your idea that it's hypocritical to hate Saban's cuts (for censorship) but like Kai's cuts (to deliberately make it closer to the manga). Yes, there is actual censorship in Kai and I don't like it. At least I'll admit the faults in what I like rather than blatantly ignoring things just to make what I don't like sound worse.

Alright, fine. Where would be a good thread to take this?
