Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
Something like that, yeah. It's what he's yelling anyway, just in Japanese.
Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
According to the credits Sabat gave Mr. Popo back to Chris Cason. O.o
Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
Yeah, but that just sounds silly and overdone. It'd be like Stonce Cold hitting the Stone Cold Stunner and then Jim Ross yelling, "SITTING THREE-QUARTERS FACELOCK CHINBREAKER! SITTING THREE-QUARTERS FACELOCK CHINBREAKER! SITTING THREE-QUARTERS FACELOCK CHINBREAKER!"Amigo Ten wrote:Something like that, yeah. It's what he's yelling anyway, just in Japanese.
Actually, the Son family name was used only for the Japanese voice credits. In The U.S voice credits in the beginning, the family name is removed.Puto wrote:Official. Son family name is kept. I see "Son Gohan" in the credits.
I am liking this more and more.
But hey, they actually include most or maybe all of the Japanese credits instead of a small list for a couple of seconds, so that's a plus for sub fans.

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
I...am...stunned. I really didn't see this coming. I figured they'd keep all naming as is. I wonder what this means for future Video Games. But this is such a great development. Nice to see FUNi FINALLY taking DB seriously. And it only took them 15 years =P
Is that Vic Mignogna singing the OP and ED? Sounds kind of like him but that quality makes it hard to tell.

It definitely sounds like him for the ED, but not so much the opening.Gozar wrote:Is that Vic Mignogna singing the OP and ED? Sounds kind of like him but that quality makes it hard to tell.
And with the attack names, I hope they are consistent, and correct Kaioken's pronunciation, and keep "Kienzan" as opposed to "Destructo Disc".
Everything sounds laughable in that quality. Radditz sounds like a robot or something, and I can't even understand him.Ahahaha, the OP and ED are so laughable in English.

Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
I like what I'm hearing so far out of the YouTube clips of the dub. I'll very easily be able to give it a one-over without a problem.
Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
I think Schemmel's doing the opening, actually. Those opening bits sounded really sounded like him, but who knows...Gozar wrote:I...am...stunned. I really didn't see this coming. I don't see how that sounds like Schemmel at all. That clearly sounds like Vic Mignogna.

At first I thought it was Sean Schemmel but now it does sound like Vic Mignogna.

If the trailer didn't already sell me,
the proper attack names did.
I love you, Chris Sabat :3

Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
What is up with Popo seemingly voiced by Chris Cason? In the trailer it was obviously Sabat...I tried as hard I could to hear Sabat in Popo, but I'm 99% sure they went back to having him voiced by Chris Cason

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought that Nappa sounded almost exactly like his Abridged counterpart when he said, "That's more like it, boy!"

Yet, that list had the dub names for everyone else.jjgp1112 wrote:Yeah, but that just sounds silly and overdone. Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
I never really had a problem with his voice, but I know many here will be angered by this outcome.FUNiOP wrote:"King Kai" sounds exactly the same, too...
The only dub voice I've ever had any qualms with was Frieza's dub voice. I am really excited, I don't even mind Linda Young returning just as long as I can get the voices I love, with great directing and an excellent script.
That is also great, as long as they don't needlessly add swearing into dialogue that original didn't have any...Ishtar wrote:Yamcha: "With Kami's training, those Saiyans don't stand a chance in Hell!".
Yep, FUNi's definitely being more liberal with swears.

Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
I figured Kaio would sound the same. His voice is the only one I can't really stand.
Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
Cason also seems to be Umigame as well, from what I can read from the credits.

I'm so super excited!
Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
Gotta say, this turn of events makes me feel much more confident in the prediction of "Over 8000" that I made on the Podcast.

Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
But then again, they apparently used "Over 9,000" as one of their tags in the trailer on YouTube, so who knows...? What with Saiya-jin continuing to be mispronounced, I'm still putting my money on 9,000.Gozar wrote:Gotta say, this turn of events makes me feel much more confident in the prediction of "Over 8000" that I made on the Podcast.
