But then again, they apparently used "Over 9,000" as one of their tags in the trailer on YouTube, so who knows...? What with Saiya-jin continuing to be mispronounced, I'm still putting my money on 9,000.
Maybe the uncut dub will have 8,000 and the broadcast will have 9,000... That's what I think.

-Pretty sure Sean is doing the opening and Justin Houston is doing the ending.
-Cason played Popo way back in the early Ginyu episodes, must've been another character he's handing over. *hint hint*
-The answer to the Over 8000/9000 question is a funny one, but Sabat wanted that to be a secret so I'll keep a lid on it. Let's just say "everybody wins".
-"Kienzan" is another one that's being kept, he always thought that attack name was already really badass to begin with.

That seems like... such a minor thing to go to the trouble of recording twice.

So I guess I should seek some clarification. I think I read someone saying that they'd use the Japanese attack names on the DVDs and the "English" ones on TV. Is this true? Does anyone know? If so... why? What's the point? It just comes across to me like they're not putting much faith in their own product. Granted, at least it's a step forward. Better progress on home video than no progress at all, but still...

This gives me hope for Kaioken's pronunciation.

Sean Schemmel sort of confirmed they changed it to "Kai-o ken" instead of "Kay-o-ken" in Facebook.

Awesome! Kayoken always got on my nerves and it's something that's super easy to change.

Well Kirb, we already know he gave Umigame to Cason as well. I cross my fingers for all his Ginyû roles, too.

I wana know why "Over 8000" vs. "Over 9000" is such a big deal?...

I mean, there's the pronunciation of almost everything, There's the "Son" in "Son Goku" potentially getting kept, there's the major lines in the script, like Vegeta's Monologue about "Elites Vs. Low-Class", there's the spellings of most character names like Freeza vs. Frieza, or Tenshinhan Vs. Tien Shinhan... And some of you people have a problem with "Over 8000" being changed to "Over 9000"?!?!

Geez...

I actually am looking VERY forward to this dub. I have to say, I loved DragonBall's dub, and completely despise Z's dub. But this, the original music, dubbed themes, right names, it's all too much!

Um, I think most of us are simply amused by the prospect of seeing which one will be used. It certainly won't make or break my day.

It also helps that kaioken is pronounced properly in recent video games.

It does, but FUNimation has flipflopped on the usage before between dubs. So it was a bit unpredictable.

I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it's one of the only things aside from inaccurate scripting that bothers me enough to watch it in Japanese instead of English.

Since they got "Kaioken" pronounced correctly, the only main concern I have is with "Saiyan".

From the amazing shaky footage (haha :D ) it was "Say-an", I'm hoping it was just a test to give fans an idea on what it sounds like.

And yes, the Mankakosappoa made my balls drop... Chris was def. serious about this, and so far he's holding his end of the bargain, so to speak.

I doubt Saiyan will ever be changed to sound correct.

Well, saiyan being pronounced wrong doesn't bother me nearly as much as kaioken or makankosappo.

Kaioken because they already call kaio-sama king kai,

Makankosappo because "special beam cannon" is just stupid (good riddance).

And both of these will probably be corrected.

Fingers crossed for kienzan.

Yes, that was already stated to be kept.

I'm glad they're keeping attack names (for the most part) in the original Japanese, but I would love, not hoping for it, but love to see Tenshinhan's "Kiko-Ho" kept. Not betting on it, but I think that would be pretty damn awesome.

I don't see why they wouldn't keep Kikoho if they're keeping Makankosappo and Kienzan.

As far as I know, the only things that aren't being "fixed" as far as names and terms are the character names, i.e. Krillin, Tien, etc. (because of copyrights for them, Mike spoke about this once on the podcast) and "Saiyan" is still being said as "Sayin". Everything else sounds like it'll be to the liking of everyone here, for the home release.
