Now I'm really curious to hear what this sounds like.
That could be interesting.
Well, there is a camera recording.

Thank you for the link!

Even though I haven't seen the dub in forever, I still think it's just so awesome to hear Goku's VA singing the opening. Just makes me smile. X3

The song sounds good. :3

Oh, geez, I just realized they're actually retaining the two-sentence structure of the original titles. That's new!

So... any word on Kintoun?
I think they'll leave it as "Flying Nimbus" mainly because it's used so much in Dragon Ball and it's that stuck in dub fans' heads. Even if they did use it, they'd probably mispronounce it, unless they write it as Kinto'un.

No, the episode titles being two sentences long.

Yep. That is indeed what I was referring to. And the translation doesn't seem that far off either. Granted, that hasn't been one of their perpetual problems, but when it was "accurate" it was still usually just a shortened version of the original. Glad to see they're going all the way this time.

I swear that in that footage we have of the dub opening they were still saying "dokkan." I find it weird that they didn't change it to something like "kaboom."

I'd like to know for sure. I think sometimes my ears are playing tricks on me. Half the time it's supposed to be saying "Dokkan," I swear that's what they're singing. But half the time I swear they're saying something in English. Guess you can't expect clarity from shaky cam convention footage!

Because the emphasis doesn't line up. "DOK-kan", "ka-BOOM".

Eh, you could easily sing it, "KUH-boom, KUH-boom, whatever the lines are!" 8)

Interesting revisions so far. I'm still not going to watch it, though mostly because I haven't heard anything regarding a Canadian broadcast. But even if there was, it would still suck.

To me it sounds like the first word is Dokkan and then the second word is something else.

the dvds and blurays have dolby true hd 5.1 english track and only a 2.0 japanese dub ??? are the japanese dbkai blurays
in 2.0 too ???
The word "KAI" means in the old North Germanic language Frisian "Kämpfer engl. Fighter" respectively "Krieger engl. Warrior"!

Yes, the Japanese Kai releases are only in 2.0 stereo. If there is going to be a 5.1 English dub track, I have to imagine that the only directionality there will be will be entirely in dialogue.

I cannot understand the japanese ... why the hell are they using only a 2.0 on their releases instead of 5.1 ??? i mean the
voice recordings must be in dts-hd, i cannot mention that toei has not MODER VOICE RECORDING studios !!!

okay 20 years ago db was in japan mono now stereo ??? thats a big step !!! and this in a country where they're using the
modernst technologies ... :?:

2.0 on bluray big shame on toei ...
